From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (n.j.spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, September 21, 1994 Date: 22 Sep 94 16:06:56 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, September 21, 1994 Today's Stories The Two Gunshot Theory This and That at the Outback The Head of Deception The Two Gunshot Theory ---------------------- After a sleepless night Luke arrives at the Bradley Ward house where it's been a sleepless night for Justus as well. Neither one of them accepts Bradley's death as a suicide. Luke has a theory and they need to talk to Mary Mae. Luke questions Mary Mae and they come to the conclusion that the sound that woke Mary Mae could have been a gunshot, making it two gunshots she heard. Thus it was possible Bradley's death was made to look like a suicide. They realize a bullet could have gone into the tree behind the bench Bradley had been sitting on. And Mary May had hosed blood off the tree and had watched the tree heal around a wound that summer. She realizes that deep down she knew there had been two gunshots and that Bradley had been murdered but had been unable to face it. Just as Luke and Justus are about to go off to check out the tree Mary Mae realizes if someone killed Bradley then she spent the last twenty years protecting Bradley's murderer. Luke and Justus figure out where Bradley would have been sitting and where the bullet would have entered the tree. Luke uses his metal detector and finds a spot which sets off the detector. He digs into the tree [poor tree!] and finds a bullet. Luke is about to dig it out but Justus stops him. They shouldn't tamper with the bullet and Justus says it's time to bring Sean Donely into the picture. This and That at the Outback ---------------------------- As it's the morning after at the Outback Felicia, Mac and Miguel discuss the previous night's events. Miguel expresses concern about the future of L&B. Meanwhile in her hotel room Lily reads Miguel's letter (no I will not report on what he said...I haven't gone as far as Kathy yet...but it's getting close). Mac asks Felicia if when she had the amnio done if she asked to find out the sex of the baby. No, the test was just done for paternity responds Filly. She wants the sex to be a surprise. Felicia warns Mac not to get himself invested in the baby but that's a tall order for Mac. She doesn't want him (or herself) to build up expectations. Felicia tries not to dwell on who is the father, she doesn't want to commit her emotions to a situation that may not pan out...it's her attempt at maturity. Lily arrives at the Outback. Miguel introduces her to Mac and Felicia and then they go off to talk. (Sorry folks I hit the FF button for their talk.) Later Robin comes in and she is introduced to Lily. I gather Lily has decided to stay in PC but needs an apt. Miguel offers to help her look. She is overwhelmed with the prospect and since he needs to find a place too even suggests they get a place together. Lily isn't sure that's a good idea [Now that's A Great Idea Lily, don't move in with him]. Stone comes in. They still have no way to get to Lollapoluza [Didn't that tour end?!?!?] Stone shouldn't even borrow a car since after 9 pm he needs to have a guardian with him when driving. They decide to chance it and still ask Mac. It's no way for the exact reason Stone brought up. Then Mac gets a bright idea. He'll drive them. No thanks says Robin, they'll figure out something else. A close call. OK...you thought I'd never get to it.... The Head of Deception --------------------- Lucy arrives in the Q's den all cheery looking for Ned but the only one there is Edward. Edward figures Ned is off looking for his wife. Lucy presents the "contract" to Edward who can't quite figure out what Ned promised and why. Lucy explains how she hired Filly to get info on Katherine and came up with the same info Mac got for Ned and how she was going to spring it at the party was was persuaded not to by Ned and her reward is reinstatement as head of Deception. Edward wants to hold off, he doesn't want to cause Katherine go further out of control. Lucy starts to wonder out loud what Katherine had on the Q's that forced Ned to marry her. When Edward confirms it wasn't Damian or the incinerator she figures it's blackmail that hits close to home. To get Lucy to stop her incessant questioning Edward installs her as the president of Deception on the spot. Lucy kisses Edward leaving lipstick all over his face and leaves proclaiming he is her favorite ex-father-in-law. A dubious distinction to Edward. Meanwhile at a jewelry store (in an empty mall ...Razz which mall did they use) Katherine tries to sell her engagement ring. She figures it's worth $125,000 but to her dismay the jeweler offer only $200. It's a fake but a good one. [Just like your marriage and you Katybell!] Katybell storms out. Sometime later Lucy walks into Katybell's Deception office and informs Katybell she's out as head of Deception. Katybell plays as if she figured it would happen but wants to hear a formal statement from Edward. Lucy suggests katybell call but no Katherine plans on going to see Edward and telling her story. Lucy deflates Katherine when she informs Katherine she has the information about Joe Healy and boasts how she showed restraint at the party so Ned could push Katybell out the plane himself. Lucy then baits Katherine with the possibility of getting even with the Q's and tries to find out what Katherine used as blackmail against the Q's. Lucy suggests Katherine give the info to Lucy so Lucy can get them...that would be true revenge. But no, Katherine hates Lucy more than the Q's so no deal. Katherine leaves and Lucy takes her seat and puts her feet up. Later Kevin arrives at Lucy's office and she gives him a hug and kisses him (unauthorized kisses..but wow!]. He congratulates Lucy for her restraint the night before and Lucy informs him she called him because something electric has happened. She's back at the head of Deception. He congratulates Lucy and Lucy asks why revenge is sweet. Kevin in anaylist mode tells her that it affirms our existence at best. The key is to stop at a win and not to move on to gloat. He figures that now that she's got Deception back she won't continue her bet with Damian, but no. Damian needs to be nailed just as much as Katherine was. Lucy wants balance in the universe. Kevin is dismayed and questions why Lucy must continue the bet. Lucy just brushes that off. She wants to celebrate. Kevin once again questions why he offers her advice she doesn't want to hear but all Lucy wants is for him to take her out. Kevin admits he had trouble staying mad at Lucy and will concede to a celebration...only if Lucy takes him out. They laugh and go to kiss but are laughing so hard they just end up hugging. Katherine visits Edward. He wants her bags packed and her out of the mansion. She doesn't seem to deny Ned and Lucy's stories but Edward doesn't want any defense from her. She has potential but misplayed it and he orders her out for her sick and depraved power plays. Katybell tries to convince him she's only there to pick up her things. Edward allows that Ned has provided her with some mighty nice things...however Katherine plans to leave behind the worthless stuff and removes her ring. Katherine's retort as she leaves is to tell Edward he deserves his granddaughter-in-law. Till Next Time -- Nancy J.
