                            GH Update for 09/16/94

Scene 1
At the Outback, Felicia tells Lucy she's got the goods on Katherine.
Scene 2
At the Q mansion, Ned plays it very cool with Katherine. Katherine says she
can't wait for Ned's promised birthday surprise; he replies he can't wait to
give it to her.
Scene 3
Lois receives a mysterious letter special delivery. Brenda wants to know what
it is, but Lois tells her it's personal.
Scene 4
Justus and Luke head over to Mae Mae's and immediately bring up Kylie Quinnlin.
She looks distressed by the subject.
Scene 5
Justus tells her he's ok with the fact that his father was about as faithful as
a tom cat. They tell her what they know about Bradley and Frank Smith.
Scene 6
Lucy is overjoyed at Felicia's report that Katherine was a tramp and embezzler,
and that Damian saved her cheating butt in New York.
Great line as Lucy complained about how long it took Felicia to find out about
Katherine.
Felicia: "Are you ever satisfied?"
Lucy (gently touching Felicia's abdomen): "Apparently not as often as you are."
Scene 7
Brenda and Lois discuss Katherine's party. Lois tests Brenda by saying she's
decided to go since Katherine invited her. Brenda lamely tries to talk her out
of going saying she loves Lois too much to let her get so bored. Finally, Lois
let's her off the hook and agrees not to go.  After Brenda leaves, Lois opens
the secret letter revealing her marriage license with the name Ned Ashton on
it.
Scene 8
Lucy goes to see Kevin and convince him to attend Katherine's party with her.
At first he says no, but after a bit of sexy flirting and a kiss, he gives in.
[I want to protest this blatant implication that men can be swayed so easily to
abandon their principles by just a minor touch of a sexy luscious woman's soft
moist lips and the merest hint of future carnal activities. On second thought,
never mind, it's fairly accurate.]
Scene 9
The Busboy-Balladeer worries to Mac that Lily might not show [if she has any
taste she won't]. Felicia arrives, and she and Mac compare Katherine detective
dirt. Mac wins on speed, but Felicia got a bit more information. Felicia tells
Mac Lucy is going public at the party.
Scene 10
Mac quickly calls Ned to tell him about Lucy's plans. Ned tells him he'll take
care of it.  Lucy in a clinging red dress and Kevin arrive at the party. Mac
makes a passing comment (subtly about Katherine) to Lucy which concerns Kevin.
Scene 11
Mae begins a long story about Bradley. She says how he called her sounding very
tired and over extended. She told him to come over which he did looking old and
burdened unlike his normal appearance.
Scene 12
Kevin expresses worry over her plans whatever they are, but she sweet talks him
into not worrying about it.  [I must note here that I often find it difficult
to describe Lucy's sexy banter since as a man, i.e.  a homo-sapien with a
testosterone pickled brain, any time a woman says anything erotic most higher
level brain functions cease, and the only abilities remaining are 1) making
disgusting grunting noises, and 2) capacity to believe that you are the object
of all female desires. This results in difficulty in relating the scene. Your
indulgence is requested.]
Scene 13
Katherine greets Sean and Tiffany and asks if she brought a camera crew.
Tiffany shoots her down pointedly.
Scene 14
Ned drags Lucy off and asks her not to reveal the truth about Katherine, but
Lucy, still blaming him for the loss of Deception, gives him a real tongue-
lashing. Ned admits that Katherine was blackmailing him, but says he's suffered
more since he had to marry her.  When he proposes to reinstate her as head of
Deception if she will wait till Monday, she readily agrees.
Scene 15
MaeMae continues the story of Bradley's affairs with Elizabeth and Kylie.  Also
she tells how he met with Jack Boland and Frank Smith, and how they wanted him
to back off the airport and not run for office.  If he didn't, they would go
public with the information about Kylie and her pregnancy. As she spoke,
MaeMae became verklempt, and Luke and Justus had to talk among themselves; she
said the subject should be whose hair was uglier, hers or Miguel's. [For the TV
challenged: this is a reference to SNL]
Scene 16
Back at the Outback, Katherine circles the party, but no one is very friendly.
Lila, in particular, expresses negative comments to the surprise of Lee
Baldwin. Sean stops by the Q table and "invites" Jack Boland to chat with him
soon.
Scene 17
Brenda complains to Ned that Lois almost came to the party. Ned tells her just
one more day, and Katherine will be out of there.
Scene 18
Mac tells Katherine a large surprise has arrived for her in the kitchen.  Ned
says it's not from him. She tells Mac to bring it out.
Scene 19
Mae continues the story saying how she suggested Bradley wait till the next day
to tell his wife, so he agreed to stay the night, but before first light, she
was suddenly awakened by a gun shot [actually they had two].
Scene 20
The surprise is a huge sparkler ringed cake which they wheel in as everyone
sings Happy Birthday. At the finale, the cake bursts open, and out pops a
festively decorated LOIS!!  Who shouts, "Happy birthday Mrs. Ned Ashton from
me, the OTHER Mrs. Ned Ashton."  Ned looks stunned with expressions ranging
from astonishment to amusement to embarrassment to admiration.
The rest of the crowd gasps in disbelief. Katherine is shocked.
