From: njs@lhdsy2.lahabra.chevron.com (n.j.spera) Subject: GH: Update, Wednesday, September 14, 1994 Date: 15 Sep 94 18:03:30 GMT GENERAL HOSPITAL Wednesday, September 14, 1994 Today's Stories in a Stormy Port Charles THE Reunion Logs for Legs Neddie on the Ropes (but he doesn't know it) Birthday Plans THE Reunion (first to get it out of the way:-)) ----------- Miguel arrives at the airport ticket counter only to find out that the next flight to Puerto Rico isn't till 9 pm. However, the ticket agent does inform him a flight is boarding so Miguel flies off to find the gate. Meanwhile at the gate Lily is in line to board. When Miguel gets to the gate everyone has boarded. When he asks the gate agent if a Miss Lopez is aboard that flight [since when are gate agents allowed to tell anyone if someone is on board a plane??] he finds out she is and heads out to the gate as the gate agent protests and picks up her phone. Lily is in line waiting to board and Miguel calls out to her just as the storm really hits and the rain comes down in buckets. He wants to know why she came. She came to see if he was ok and to hear him sing. Miguel wants to know why she is leaving him again. Before she can answer security arrives...Miguel has to get off the tarmac and she has to either board or leave the area. Miguel hustles her out of the rain as she just stands there without making a decision. Lily tells Miguel she left him before and never got in contact with him because her father had threatened to have Miguel killed if she ever got in touch with Miguel. From that day on she stopped loving her father but never stopped loving Miguel. Ah, it was the same for him. For six years he had yearned for her. Lily wants to return to Puerto Rico, she only came to warn Miguel because she thinks he's in more danger now with Sonny as his protector. If Sonny is more powerful than her father then he has to be more dangerous. Miguel doesn't buy it, he trusts Sonny. When she asks about his female friends at the club...oh they're just Lois (madly in love with her husband) and Brenda (madly in love with Sonny), partners in L&B records. He finally convinces her to come with him to see Sonny. If she's still convinced that Sonny is dangerous he'll return her to the airport and she can catch the 9 pm flight. But, he can't let her walk out of his life again. Logs for Legs ------------- Damian tries to lift himself and as he groans in comes Katherine to visit. He's in a foul mood so Katherine has a pseudo Damian/Katherine conversation. It's poor me, I'm never going to walk again as Damian doesn't believe the optimism of the everyone, he's had too much time to think. And he's afraid he'll get too comfortable if he accepts defeat. They talk about their shifting balance of power in the years that they've known each other, from Damian "rescuing" Katherine, to the loss of his computer company, to her almost getting Scott, to him finally getting in the ELQ boardroom and her maneuvering her way into Ned's bedroom. They're finally out of the cold. [ha! just you wait Katybell!] She tries to cheer him up by accusing him of getting hurt just so he can avoid her birthday party. That turns the conversation of the Q's, none of whom have visited him except Ned and that was for business. Katherine, on the other hand, has been faithful, and Lucy's visit was only to find out if Bobbie was responsible for his accident. He describes his ordeal to Katherine...ah sweet sympathy. He vows to make Bobbie regret it if he can make the charges stick. Tony arrives to examine Damian and Katherine is asked to leave. Damian is obnoxious about Tony wanting to be alone with him but eventually Katherine agrees to leave. When Tony finishes his examination of Damian he pronounces that everything is as is to be expected. But no, Damian can't feel anything...but it's too soon says Tony. Damian threatens malpractice but Tony warns him there were impartial witnesses in OR and Dr. Hardy and the hospital are prepared. Afterall only an 1/8 in slip with his scapel and Tony could have done real damage Tony reminds Damian. Later Amy is "ministering" to Damian and he pleads his case...he didn't mean to break up Bobbie's marriage. He flirts and Amy succumbs....they're laughing as she plumps up his pillows when in comes Bobbie. He is back in form but Bobbie is immune to his charms. Her vaccination was his visit to the catacombs. When she leaves she runs into Tony in the hall. He about to say something but she tells him not to say anything about Damian. Damian is not worth the time or effort. Neddie on the Ropes (but he doesn't know it) -------------------------------------------- Ned asks Brenda where Katherine is but Brenda has enough trouble juggling one of his wives, she's not keeping track of Katherine. She's tired of telling lies. Her nose is growing. He informs her it's almost over, he's got incriminating information on Katherine and Katherine's birthday bash will be her last hurrah. Brenda wants him to get rid of Katybell right then and there but Ned wants to give Katherine the opportunity to back out gracefully. With that Brenda suggests he tell Lois immediately. As it is Lois has been in a strange mood and had been asking Brenda lots of questions about Ned Ashton. Ned wonders if Lois might have seen the snipet on the news with him and Katherine. He's off to find Lois. Meanwhile down in the gatehouse Lois is looking at a freeze frame of Ned at the city council meeting. She pulls out the tape, throws it across the room, call NEddie a creep, and dissolves into tears. When NEddie arrives at the gatehouse Lois is sitting in the dark. He puts on the lights, picks up the tape. It's been a crazy day and he wants to hear from her how much she loves him. She motions him to sit down beside her. He's amorous as they recall how they met at that Buffalo bar. Her first impression was unfavorable and her first impressions are usually right. He admits he turned into a different person when he got up on stage and that he never expected to fall in love. [He thought it would be a one night stand]. They go over the trust issue and without a clue that Lois knows about his lies NEddie goes on and on about how he feels about her. They hit upon the commitment issue and how she could never book gigs far in advance and how he's just show up at her apt out of the blue. He even suggested they get married out of the blue. A perfect opportunity for NEddie to tell the truth but he just goes on about how complicated life is, and yes she was a complication, but one that he welcomes. He does admit he's been less than honest with her...he's not more than a salesman, is good at his job, and wanted it all. Her, the singing, and his day job. To which Lois says it's a crock. He's lying. You can't have it all. He tries to convince her it will all be ok if she can accept he's not quite she thinks he is. [sure Ned} He "wants" her, but Lois has business to attend to. Ned wonders if there is something bothering her but Lois says no. He wants to make sure she won't pack her bags and leave and accepts that he can't be a full time musician. She says she accepts it and won't leave, after all she's Mrs. Eddie Maine. Ned leaves but the wheels are turning in Lois' head. Birthday Plans -------------- Back up at the mansion Katherine orders Felicia to have fresh raspberries for the party or she'll take her business to the country club. In walks Lucy to personally turn down her invitation to Katherine's birthday party. She has something better to do...clean out her sock drawer. But Katybell insists Lucy be there as part of her job requirements. Lucy once again tries to bait Katherine with a "rumor" about Katherine/Damian and New York. Lucy also brings up the city council debacle. Maybe ELQ will figure Katybell has overextended herself and put Lucy back in charge of Deception, in which case Lucy wouldn't force Katherine to attend Lucy's birthday party, Lucy has friends. Later while Katherine is working alone on plans for the party and Monica comes in and makes a remark about making sure she wears something with long sleeves and a high neck. Katherine is not amused. Her mother died of breast cancer. Katybell wonders why Monica is so hateful towards her but Monica counters with..."Why do you have to ask?" Lois arrives to see "Mrs. Ned Ashton." She's there to "offer" Katherine Eddie's services. Katherine is in charge of PR at ELQ, surely she could use him to sing jingles. With remarks about Eddie's voice and body Lois is unable to phase Katherine. They end up talking about how their husbands surprised them with quick marriage proposals and weddings and Lois makes note that Katherine married Ned only 1 week after she and Eddie got married. Katherine gets the bright idea that Lois and her husband should come to Katherine's party and invites them. Lois promises to think about it and check their calendar. Sometime later is staring out at the rain [gee Ned you do a lot of staring out the window at the weather] as Katherine wants his opinion on which coffee to serve with the cake but Ned thinks she's talking about ice cream. She lets him know it will be a big night for her and Ned [boy neither one knows how big] and she's told people not to bring presents. Ah, presents. Ned has one for her but he won't give it to her till after the party. She tries guessing but no it's to be a surprise. Katherine loves surprises, good says Ned, it's a lulu. Down in the gatehouse Lois has ordered a copy of her marriage certificate, it's to arrive the next day. Then she calls up a bakery...she wants to order a special cake...it's a rush order too.
