Weekly update for 9/5/94 through 9/9/94 from the (California) Contra
Costa County Times newspaper: Felicia told Mac she is pregnant, but rejected
his offer to marry her and take care of the baby. Felicia admitted to Mac
that she is waiting for test results that will tell if he or Frisco is the
father. Damian fell while escaping flood waters in the catacombs and broke
his back. Tony was forced to perform surgery on Damian after he was rescued.
Luke and Alan worried that Bobbie could face criminal charges for leaving
Damian stranded in the catacombs. Lois was stunned to learn that "Eddie" is
really Ned Ashton. Sonny is hiding Foster from the dog cops. Monica noted
Katherine's concern when she learned that Damian was injured and may be
paralyzed. Anna Lee News: First air date will be Sept 20.

General Hospital Update for Monday, September 13
                     [Presented in semi-Johnny Style]

At the Outback, Miguel has just finished his set, been mobbed by the crowd and
lost sight of Lily after she ran out of the club. Monkeyboy is feverishly
shaking his mane and babbling to Mac that he must run after her. Mac tells him
to calm down. At another table, Brenda is frantically telling Sonny that they
have to tell Miguel about Sonny's trip to Puerto Rico and that Sonny is the
one responsible for telling Lily of Miguel's whereabouts. Sonny tells her to
cool it; maybe Lily changed her mind and ran away because she didn't want
any part of Monkeyboy. Brenda tries another tack. She mentions that Miguel's
heartache over Lily might affect his golden pipes; Sonny looks thoughtful over
the possible loss of future revenue. Eventually, Sonny 'fesses up about his
trip to PR. Miguel is angry that Sonny interfered with his life. Mac and
Miguel then start to call the hotels in town, looking for Lily. Turns out
she's registered at the PC Hotel under the name of "Lopez", so Monkeyboy
doesn't find her that night. Taking him aside, Mac tells Miguel that he
thinks BOTH Sonny and Brenda are untrustworthy.

Sonny and Brenda leave the Outback. She heads for the gatehouse to check on
Lois and he heads home. Uh, oh! The door to his apartment is ajar and he
creeps in. Turns out that Stone carelessly left the door unlatched. After
Sonny finishes yelling at Stone, they realize that it's pretty quiet in the
apartment...Foster's GONE! Apparently the dog chewed through a screen or
something! Good old Foster, he's found his way to the Quartermaine's back
door where he whines and scratches for Annabelle. Edward lets Foster in,
traps him, and calls the police department. Officer Johnson shows up and
takes Foster away, after telling Lila that the dog might be destroyed because
he's bitten two people. Lila turns into an icebox and tells Edward that
she'll be sleeping in the guest bedroom because of his meanness toward Foster.
She and Annabelle depart in a cloud of Chanel. Edward looks mopily after them.

Meanwhile, in the Quartermaine living room, the uhappy crew is gathered around,
rehashing the events of earlier that evening. Present are Edward, Lila, Alan,
KatyBell, and Ned. Monica enters later as does Jason. Edward is screeching at
Alan about his anti-toxic thing speech at the council meeting. Soon, everyone
joins Edward in Alan-bashing but he shuts them up when he says he just might
go to Sean and confess everything about the Ray Conway murder. Then, he says,
Ned could dump Katy and the rest of the Q's could get on with their lives!
After more arguing, everyone agrees to disagree about the evening's events and
all toddle off to bed.

Keesha and Jason are at May-Mae's discussing the city council meeting. They
agree that Alan was a real mensch that night. They moose around a bit and
finally kiss each other again. You can tell that Jason's been paying real close
attention in his pre-med classes because he gives Keesha's tonsils a thorough
going-over. He's preparing to move his hands and tongue south when May-Mae
slithers in quietly and interrupts them. Jason soon leaves and Keesha tries
to beat a retreat upstairs when MM says she wants to have a few words. She
warns Keesha about her growing infatuation with Jason. Keesha tries to make
light of it and insists that Jason's just a friend, albeit a "kissing friend"!
MM presses on about the dangers of seeing Jason and the two start to wrangle
it up when Justus wanders in and asks what's going on? Keesha tells him that
MM doesn't want her to date Jason because he's white [like I've said before,
wait until they get a load of Doc Tom if they think Jason is a white boy!].
MM says not to misunderstand what she's saying. She says that the Quartermaine
family is powerful and dangerous and they're not going to welcome Keesha into
it. The subject of race/racism flares up again and MM tells them to sit
down...she's got a story to tell them. May-Mae spins a tale of her youthful
indiscretions and how she fell in love with a white Naval Lieutenant. She
says she deeply loved him and that they comforted and cared for each other
during the dark days of WWII. Then she drops a bombshell: She says they
became lovers and she bore the Lieutenant a son; that child was Bradley Ward.
Justus looks completely stunned. MM goes on to say that when she married, her
husband accepted Bradley as his own child. The only people who know about
Bradley's white father were MM's parents, her husband, and Laura Spencer, to
whom she confided the story one rainy afternoon over a big pitcher of martinis.
It takes a few seconds but Justus eventually climbs up on his high horse and
demands to know if it's REALLY true that the white Lieutenant was his
grandfather? May-Mae says "can you spell Kunta Kinte Quartermaine"? [just
kidding, she merely said "yes".] Then he asks if Bradley knew that his father
was white and MM says "nope". MM tells them that the Lieutenant knew about
the baby and offered to help her, but she declined. MM also says that she
lost contact with the Lieutenant for many years but eventually ran into him
again. That thread is dropped, for the present. Keesha asks MM how she can
possibly object to Jason when MM's drunk from the same well. MM reiterates
that she has no objection to Jason himself, it's the Quartermaine family who'll
make trouble.

At the gatehouse, Lois sadly ponders what she saw on television. Could her
ever-lovin' Eddie really be the King-of-Slime Ned Ashton? Naaaah! Everybody's
got a double and maybe Mr Ashton is her Eddie's doppleganger! She paces the
floor and argues with herself about how her Eddie could be Ned Ashton. The
pieces are slowly falling into place, however, and she remembers how Eddie
didn't want his face shown on the first CD. So, she thinks, if she really IS
married to Ned, er Eddie, er whomever, is her marriage even legal? She finds
the picture of Ned and Jenny and broods over it. Then Lois decides to call
Brenda to talk things over but gets upset all over again when she realizes
that Brenda knows the REAL Ned Ashton. Lois feels hurt and betrayed by both
Eddie and Brenda. She hunkers down for a good cry. Sometime later, Brenda
breezes into the gatehouse singing the praises of Miguelito Loveless. Lois is
moody and subdued but Brenda's too jazzed up to notice. She quacks blithely
on, oblivious to Lois' pain. Slowly, Brenda catches on that something is up
with Lois. She spies the photo of Ned and Jennie and thinks that's why Lois
is upset. Brenda assures Lois that Eddie truly loves her and her alone. Lois
replies that, actually, she was wondering about Ned Ashton and why she's never
seen him around the grounds of the Q mansion. Brenda goes "en guarde" and
tries to change the subject. Lois pleads exhaustion and politely kicks Brenda
out. Alone, Lois stares gloomily off into space and later on she breaks down
and cries her eyes out.
