Date: Sun, 11 Sep 1994 01:24:17 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 09/09/94 GH Update for 09/09/94 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 People mill around the PC city council room awaiting the hearings on the incinerator project. Scene 2 Alan tries to get Monica ready for the meeting, but she is feeling ill due to the chemotherapy, and, of course, blames Alan for making her take the treatments. Scene 3 Edward lectures Katherine about the upcoming sessions. She says it's set up so that she will be recognized at the right time to speak. Ned arrives, and Edward orders him to be there, but he claims to have other plans. Scene 4 Lois tells Brenda she plans to use Ned's full photo for the album cover [Oooo, full male facial nudity]. Brenda tries to persuade her to use one that does not show his face [I wish she'd do that for Miguel as well]. Scene 5 Tiffany tells Luke there better be some fireworks since she's got live TV coverage planned. He assures her it will be good when he pulls out the tape. Scene 6 Monica berates Alan for bullying her into the therapy. He tries to explain that taking the treatment is not giving in but is saving her life. She is still unreasonably derisive. Scene 7 Edward insists Ned attend for the appearance of solidarity; he need not speak, but he must be there. Eventually, Ned agrees and goes off to cancel his plans. Scene 8 As Jason practices his speech in some room, Katherine locks him in and leaves. Scene 9 Brenda tries to get Lois to join her and Sonny at the Outback to hear Miguel, but Lois says she's busy and also wants to spend some time with her husband. However, when Ned arrives, he begs off telling her he agreed to help some business clients by attending the city council meeting. When they discuss album photos, he also tells her no facial shots. Lois sickeningly fawns over a photo of the Hispanic Has-been. Scene 10 Alan tells Luke that he and Monica voted against the incinerator, but were overruled. Scene 11 Back at home, Jason tries to come out of the closet, but no one hears his shouts. [Update escape note: if you are ever locked in the closet and need to get to a city council meeting to denounce your family, notice if, as in this case, the hinges are on the inside of the door. If so, just knock out the pin, and the door will come off.] Scene 12 Tiffany tries to get Edward to comment on camera, but he declines. Katherine intervenes and acts the good PR chief. Councilman Blake pulls Edward aside and tells him he's getting heat. Luke and Justus notice them talking and surmise Blake is getting ready to double cross the Q's. Scene 13 AJ finally hears Jason's shouts and unlocks the door. They both head off to the meeting. Scene 14 Blake starts the session by calling Katherine to testify. She attempts to make a financial case for the project [Although a pretty piss-poor one I'd say]. When she finishes, Alan unexpectedly stands to address the council. Scene 15 Alan makes a far better speech against the incinerator; although he is also long on emotion and short on facts. Jason is next, telling the council that ELQ is dishonest, and the project should be turned down. Scene 16 Mac tells Miguel that Felicia is PG, but he may not be the father. Miguel says don't look at him, as he's been singing acappella [if you know what I mean] since he left Lily. Scene 17 Robin blathers to Stone about the Smashing Pumpkins concert, and how they will sneak there. Stone is concerned about lying to Mac, but Robin sings the old, "what he doesn't know won't hurt us" tune. Scene 18 Brenda and Sonny talk endlessly about their relationship [Give me a B, give me an O, give me an R-I-N-G]. Miguel hair flips his way over to their table as Lily comes unseen yet again into the Outback [What does this woman wear, a Romulan cloaking device?] Scene 19 Back at the PC council meeting, Luke takes to the podium and pulls out the tape he made ostensibly of Councilman Blake. Unfortunately, in his haste, he inadvertently loads a tape of Laura and him playing "The Prince and Camilla." After a bit of understandable embarrassment, he finally plays the correct tape causing a general outcry. Taking his cue, Justus jumps up and calls for Blake's resignation. To the cheers of the crowd, Edward Q looks very concerned. Scene 20 With a pained expression, Lily listens to Miguel sing [Either it was his singing or the Outback's new Mac's Special Spamburger]. At the end of his song, he at last sees her in the audience. Scene 21 Though Miguel tries to follow Lily, he is prevented by fans until it's too late as she has left the building. Scene 22 Despite Blake's vocal denials, the City Council announces that hearings will be held on the charges. Edward explodes at Blake calling him a double dealing crook who will pay; Katherine quickly orders him to shut up. Scene 23 Lois, supping on milk and cookies, turns on the TV to watch the live council proceedings, her ears perk up when Tiffany mentions interviewing Ned Ashton. As she watches intently hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive Mr. Ashton, she is shocked to see what appears to be her loving husband Eddie Maine instead. Simultaneously, Ned, surprised by Tiffany, says no comment and tries to cover the camera. [Well, GH fans, tune in Monday to see what web of lies Ned can spin to try to save him from becoming a soprano.]
