General Hospital Update for Monday, September 5

Oh, let us gather at the Outback:
Mac has another date with Ivy; Filly overhears him talking to Miguel about her.
Mac says that there could never be anything serious between him and Ivy [that's
because the girl has a brain!] but that he's definitely looking for someone to
love. Filly enters the room and Miguel splits. A frowning Filly tells Mac that
GH needs a sample of his blood [good thing they don't need a sample of brain
tissue]. Filly finally tells him she's pregnant...four months pregnant! He is
excited and smiling. He asks her to marry him. Then she breaks the news that
it might not be his child, it might be Frisco's. The smile fades and he says
some pretty ugly things to her about having leaping from his bed to have sex
with her ex-husband. She reminds him that it was Mac who dumped HER,
practically in her child's sick room at GH. That shuts him up for a while and
he agrees to give the blood sample. Oddly enough, he still offers to get
married; she puts him off and says she won't make any decisions like that
until the test results come in (2 months). Then he gets really bent out of
shape when she lets drop that Kevin knows about the pregnancy already. He
leaves the room and childishly throws plates and cups around. He goes to the
bar area and shoves people and crockery around again. Lois enters the club
and pays Miguel for his gig at the Outback. She asks Mig what's bugging Mac
and Miguel says that he thinks Mac is still in love with Filly. They chat
some more and Lois ends up hugging Miguel. They don't see her but Lily wanders
into the club. She sees Miguel hugging Lois, who had blown her away from the
recording studio earlier that week, and draws the erroneous conclusion that
Miguel and Lois are an item. She slinks out the door and stares at Miguel
through the glass [already she's b-o-r-i-n-g].

Meanwhile, at Chez Corinthos:
Brenda and Sonny squabble over L&B Records. They're in Sonny's bedroom and
pretty soon they're moosing around on the bed, preparing to do the nasty in the
very near future. Foster wanders in and startles Brenda, who shrieks. He
stares at them with those soulful eyes until Sonny orders him out of the room.
Brenda pleads to let Foster stay with them while they watch a movie. Brenda
tells Sonny about Foster's "crush" on Annabelle; Sonny tells her that the dog
is in hiding from the dogcatcher for biting some kid on the ankle. They talk
some more and Sonny tells her about his childhood dog and it's sad fate at the
hands of his cruel stepfather. Brenda presses for more details of his child-
hood but the little hood clams up, which infuriates her. They get into a
horrible fight about other issues (self esteem, jealousy, control) and she
storms out [but not before Brenda does some SERIOUS hambone overacting].

In Granny-Mae's house on Charles Street:
Keesha and Jason have returned from a movie and are arguing good-naturedly
about it. May-Mae is waiting for them and asks Jason about Monica. Jason says
her that Mom is home, but is feeling depressed about the surgery. Then they
discuss the toxic thingy. We learn that there's going to be a city council
meeting next week that will address the concerns about the toxic plant. Jason
is sure that he can swing Alan to their side. May-Mae exits, stage left.
Keesha and Jason talk about school. She tells him that she's going to try and
stay in Port Chuck and attend PCU, but she needs to get her dad's and MM's
approval. He says, "Swell!" and they exchange a chaste kiss [absolutely no
tongue as far as I could see]; May-Mae, who had come back down stairs to get
that last chicken leg from the refrigerator, spies the kiss and looks dismayed
[or dis-May-mae'd!]. The kids kiss again, not so chaste this time, and the
top of Jason's ears wiggle back and forth frantically. They move to the porch
where Keesha bids him goodbye, after another kiss. Jason finally leaves and
she sits down on the porch and stares dreamily after him. May-Mae comes out to
talk with her; Keesha outlines her plans to stay in Port Charles and attend
school. She asks MM if she'll talk to her Dad and get his permission. MM asks
her if school is all that attracts Keesha to Port Charles. Keesha admits that
she likes Jason but denies that it's serious. Keesha is shocked when May-Mae
tells her that the powerful Quartermaines wouldn't allow Jason to get serious
about her and that any relationship with Jason would have to be "friends
only" with no hope of a future. Keesha is taken aback at her frankness, but
MM's grim look stops any backtalk.

In the emergency room at GH:
Damian is wheeled in as a "back injury" patient. Alan and Amy are on duty.
When Alan sees him, he exclaims "Oh, MY GOD!" [Remember that Alan knew about
Bobbie's scheme to strand Damian in the catacombs] Seems our boy Damian is
numb from the waist down [and the neck up?] and is generally in bad shape from
the fall, exposure to the elements, and a couple of rat hickeys on his neck
[theme from "Ben" swells up in the background]. Alan orders Damian to be
wheeled into X-ray; Amy gets on the horn to Bobbie and blabs that Damian's in
the emergency room. The Bulwark rushes to the emergency room and Alan tells
her that Damian has a broken back. Bobbie looks horrified. In private, Alan
asks her if she had any part in injuring Damian; she assures him that she only
stranded him and he must have gotten hurt by himself [little comfort when they
slam your Bulwarks away in prison, eh Bobbie?]. Alan gets on e phone and
orders up a surgeon...we all know that it's Tone Loc who's going to step up
to the plate! Alan tells him there's a back-injury patient who needs him and
sends up X-rays...but he doesn't tell him the identity of the patient. Alan
and Bobbie wonder aloud if Tony will agree to operate on Damian. Tony waits
in the operating room, examining the X-rays. Then Damian is wheeled in; he's
strapped down, immobile. Tony sees who the patient is and shoots an angry
look at Bobbie; it bounces off her Bulwarks and richochets around the room
for a while until it slams into Damian, who looks up and notices who's holding
the scalpel. He rolls his eyes and says, "NO!!!" as Tony asks Alan, "do you
want a wing or a leg?"
