Date: Sun, 4 Sep 1994 22:08:50 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 09/02/94 GH Update for 09/02/94 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 The Mangy-Minstrel struggles to write some more of his so-called songs but can't quite seem to say what he wants. Brenda brings up Lily and says his suffering makes his songs better [then by all means let him suffer some more]. Scene 2 Luke returns home to hear from Sly that Lucky is on the lam with Foster to avoid Foster's arrest. They decide he must have gone to hide in the catacombs. Scene 3 Lucky and Foster wander around the now flooding catacombs while Damian lies nearly unconscious in steadily deepening water with rats crawling on him [takes one to know one, I say]. Scene 4 Bobbie talks to Alan about Monica then asks about a dam breaking and flooding the catacombs with water. Scene 5 Back in the catacombs, Damian tries to move but can't while Lucky sits with Foster and relates the story of Catacomb Charlie the alleged one-armed civil war soldier who haunts the catacombs. Scene 6 Damian begins to hallucinate images of Bobbie and Luke taunting him as well as a campy Catacomb Charlie [played hammily by Tony Geary]. Scene 7 When Lucky hears a man's voice, he goes to investigate. Scene 8 Kevin and Felicia discuss her pregnancy. She says it's time to tell Mac, but she dreads doing it. Scene 9 Brenda apparantly has a thought to tell the Suffering-Songster about Lily but changes her mind and covers up asking what he'd say to her if he saw her again. He replies he'd ask her for his hair brush back. Just then, Lois arrives like a cyclone barking out orders. Scene 10 Katherine tells Ned she's sick of being a private wife and is planning an event he's going to attend. Scene 11 Sonny arrives at Luke's house with information about Laura's attack. He says the job was locally financed, but the guys were from Chicago. [I want to protest this scurrilous misrepresentation of Chicago. Anyone familiar with Chicago, or Chi-town in our vernacular, knows those incompetent goons could not be from there, maybe downstate Illinois perhaps, but if you are dumb enough to hire thugs from Peoria you deserve what you get. In fact, Chicago sports some of the highest class criminals available; right now, we actually have two of our Congressmen under indictment. What other major city can boast that?] Luke asks about Councilman Blake, and Sonny says he's come in handy a few times. Eventually, they head off to look for Lucky. Scene 12 Kevin comforts Felicia who is experiencing great stress over having to tell Mac and ask for a blood test. She is worried he will feel obligated even if the baby is not his. Kevin warns her that Mac will have an "emotional earthquake" in her presence or not, and she should understand if he acts it out in other ways. Scene 13 Katherine tells Ned she wants a huge birthday party, a large society affair. He tries to convince her to have a small intimate party, but she is vitriolic and demanding. Scene 14 Bobbie tells Alan how she left Damian lost in the catacombs. He is amused, but they agree it was time to get him out, and she should phone the police anonymously. Scene 15 Lucky finally finds Damian who is now nearly dead from a case of third degree dishwashing-wrinkled-fingers syndrome causing him to resemble Dick Tracy's enemy Pruneface. Lucky heads out to call the police. Scene 16 Brenda and Lois bicker over which of the Homely-Harmonist's photos is the least ugly and can be used on an album cover. Unfortunately, when they finally choose one, they realize it's actually a photo of Annabelle which accidentally got mixed in. They also debate the name of the album and eventually settle on, "This Album Sucks." It will cut down on returns Lois explains, and besides we can then issue a sequel, "This Album Really Sucks." Scene 17 Felicia chastises Kevin for clamming up again after he already related the story of what happened to Grace. He warns her not to believe that much different than his twin, Ryan. He reminds her that at one point he hated Grace violently and wanted her dead, and less than a hour later, she was. Scene 18 Brenda intentionally fawns heavily over Miguel's photos just to show Lois that Ned can get as jealous as Sonny. After Brenda leaves, Ned admits to Lois he does feel jealous when she gets absorbed in another man even if it's a client. She's says good. Scene 19 Bobbie phones the police but learns someone else has already reported Damian. Scene 20 Luke and Sonny find Lucky in the catacombs. Lucky is worried the police will take Foster, but Sonny offers to take him home for the night and leaves. The police soon arrive, and Lucky leads them to Damian who is nearly submerged [even the rats have abandoned this sinking ship]. Scene 21 Ned is just getting down to some serious neck nibbling when a knock at the door interrupts. Lois answers it to find Lily who asks to see Miguel. Unfortunately, Lois concludes she is a groupie [ya, right, she really looks like a groupie] and makes her feel about as welcome as diarrhea on a wedding night virtually giving her the bum's rush out telling her to come see a concert and slamming the door in her face. Scene 22 A napping Kevin dreams of his waterfall painting and sees the ominously grinning face of Ryan rise out of the water. Scene 23 As the paramedics haul off a stretcher bound Damian, Officer Johnson first compliments Lucky for calling the police then asks about Foster. Luke and Lucky claim Foster ran away.
