                            GH Update for 08/26/94
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
Ned tells Brenda about the faux-dinner plans with the stand-in actors posing as
his business friends. He wants her to stand guard, but she refuses and storms
out. Katherine arrives and Ned begs off their evening plans. When he leaves,
she makes phone plans with someone else to "accidentally" meet her at the
Outback.
Scene 2
At the Outback, Mac meets up with Ivy while Felicia looks on.
Scene 3
Lois nears panic as she prepares for their dinner party. Brenda tries to calm
her down, but when Ned arrives she exits stage left.
Scene 4
Mac and Ivy snuggle up to the Outback bar. While Ivy schmoozes up to Mac, they
banter about her life and jobs with Felicia interjecting an occasional comment.
Scene 5
Katherine arrives at the Outback, and Damian "just happens" to run into her.
Scene 6
Ivy continues to drone on until eventually Mac and she take a table. Kevin
arrives, and Felicia immediately grabs on to him.
Scene 7
Brenda and Sonny show up and hit the bar where Sonny and the Lock-Mess Monster
briefly discuss Lily. When asked if his trip involved Miguel, Sonny avoids the
question.
Scene 8
Back in Puerto Rico, Lily and her father discuss Sonny's visit. She wants to
know how Sonny got away alive. He tells her Sonny represented Frank Smith, and
Frank has an interest in Miguel. Lily is furious that he'd overlook his hatred
of Miguel for Frank Smith but not her [I was too.]
Scene 9
While Ivy giggles coquettishly, nearby Kevin observes that Felicia is obsessed
with them. She expresses distaste for how he moons over her and that she is so
much younger than him.
Scene 10
Mac spins tales of aborigines and the outback of Australia for Lily, but when
he talks of the moon landing she remarks that she was only three at the time.
Scene 11
Katherine and Damian discuss their respective relationships. She says Ned and
she have an understanding. He claims Lucy can't stay away from him.
Scene 12
Brenda pointedly asks Sonny where he went. He again avoids answering directly,
but gives her a coral necklace as a hint. She guesses that it was Puerto Rico.
Scene 13
In one of the most amusing scenes I've seen on GH, the staged dinner party
begins with the arrival of the fake guests. They put on a real show from the
start. The men constantly talk about drugs and bodily functions while the women
alternate between silent and neurotic. Lois is taken aback by the boorishness
of the men and the shallowness of the women. One of them remarks to her, "Oh,
I'm clinically depressed. All of us women are." When one of the wives notices
Lois is serving mushrooms, she yells a supposed warning to her husband. He
immediately begins faking a severe allergic reaction claiming to be breaking
out in hives.
Scene 14
Sonny finally confesses about seeing Lily. He even tells her about using Frank
Smith's name.
Scene 15
Lily and her father argue over Miguel. He assumes she'll be leaving to go to
him, but she doesn't say so.
Scene 16
Felicia and Kevin continue to discuss fixations. She brings up Grace again.
Scene 17
Mac tries again to relate to Ivy, but they repeatedly run up against a
generation gap [She's Generation X, and he's got a gap between his ears].
Scene 18
Sonny tells Brenda that he removed the road blocks to Lily coming to see
Miguel, but it's up to Lily, and Brenda can not tell Miguel.
Scene 19
The dinner party from Hell continues with more talk about pharmaceuticals. Lois
desperately tries to change the subject and engage in conversation, but the men
always return to shop talk. Eventually, one of the guys really turns on the
boorishness. He criticizes Lois' cooking, and tells Ned he has to train her to
be a better wife. She gets furious and virtually throws them out.
Scene 20
Felicia tries to pry more information about Grace from Kevin, but he won't
crack.
Scene 21
Lois rants about the people and vows to save Eddie from them. She promises
never to meddle in his day job again. He comforts her, but smiles unseen.
Scene 22
With intercut scenes of Katherine/Damian, Mac/Felicia, Lily, etc.,
the Schlock-Songster tosses his tangled tresses and lip-sinks another song.
