Subject: GH: Update Tue 8/23

                           General Hospital Update
                           Tuesday August 23, 1994

Once again, can't really find a theme that runs through. Justus & Keisha are
in the credits, Tony & Bobi still together. I hold to my prediction.

Alan is nursing Monica. Monica is getting bad dreams from the drugs. Alan
tells her that Dr Winters thinks they got it all. Monica makes Alan promise
that he will always tell her the whole truth about the disease. N/Ed pays a
condolence call, followed by AJ. AJ is really choked up & lets slip that
Monica doesn't look all that great. Alan is not pleased by AJ's behavior &
tears into AJ. AJ tells Alan that it is his mother & he can show emotion.
Edward comes in, awkwardly. He & Monica chat, he tells her he admires her.
Bobi comes with a Norman Cousins book. The 2 ladies patter while Alan looks.

Sonny calls Crusak, asking for help from Frank with one of his singers. Sonny
is willing to cash in one of his chips.

Luke comes to the Bradley house. He checks his machine & finds a message from
Edward. Luke hangs up before listening for his other messages, tells Justus
who tells him to go see what's up. While waiting at the Q's, Luke call Reg
"Jeeves". Reg gets a lot of speaking lines & gives a very brief tour of the
gun collection. Edward tells Luke that he thinks that Councilman Blake was
behind it. Edward is offering 25G as reward. Luke doesn't believe Edward.
Lila comes in [when is the real one coming back?] & mentions about Monica.
Luke goes back to Bradleys to get Lucky & info from Justus.
Justus tells Luke all about Kyli and his pop & Steve Hardy's knowledge of the
crucial facts. Luke & Justus wonder about hospital records. Luke also tells
Justus that running people off the road is Frank Smith's style not Ed Q's.
Luke asks to meet with Kyli [YES!] & the guys start talking about Blake.

Jason comes to the Bradley's full of apologies to Keisha that he hasn't kept
up on his share of the work. He tells Keisha about Monica, the 2 of them hug.
MayMae comes in, is not happy to see the hug & gets the news. Jason is all
wound up, Keisha suggests tennis. MayMae gives dirty looks but when asked,
says sure,go ahead. She is not pleased one bit but Romeo & Juliet don't see.
They leave for the Q mansion for Jason to change. Keisha is left on the porch
playing with Annabelle. AJ comes into the den & heads for the liquor [uh oh].
Keisha comes in & gives her best wishes regarding Monica, thereby saving AJ.
At first AJ is abrupt (Keisha not knowing attributes it to rudeness), then
softens & tells her he is not handling post surgery well & that Monica looks
awfull and not strong, which has shocked him. Keisha gives him a pep talk.

N/Ed drops in on Lois. He doesn't say anything just looks. Lois gets up &
they huddle. Basically N/Ed is counting his blessings after his visit with
Monica. Lois breaks the mood & tells N/Ed she wants to throw a dinner party
for his friends & clients.  N/Ed tries to talk her out of it & Lois says:

"Sometimes I feel you walk out of here & into a life I cannot even imagine"
N/Ed tries like all heck to change her mind. Lois finally takes the hint that
N/Ed is embarassed about her. He says she got it all wrong, & he knows just
who to invite for, when? Day after tomorrow ! They kiss. Brenda comes in [with
her breasts forward, jeez give it a rest] & warns N/Ed that Sonny is coming
over. N/Ed leaves, Sonny comes, fone rings, Brenda answers. It's Crusak.
Brenda aint happy. Crusak tells Sonny its a green light. Sonny wont tell
Brenda what's up only that it is a suprise for Mig.

Lois calls her mother for recipies and ideas for the dinner party. Lois tells
Brenda about the party, Brenda is shocked. Brenda storms into the Q's starts
yelling at N/Ed, how could he deceive Lois about the party. He tells her he
has hired actors from NY to play business associates. Brenda says this proves
he has gone off the deep end & is frustrated at her inability to stop it.
