Lois is sure that Ned can't really afford the vacation and he must have a rich relative hanging on the family tree; Ned denies it. They moose around a bit and talk about money, or lack thereof. Lois keeps on getting back to how much the trip must have cost. Ned says he took some money out of savings. Lots of kissy- face and pressy-body. Ned is on the verge of telling her the truth, but he backs off and they have a lobster dinner instead. Lois tells Eddie how precious expen- sive lobster was when she was a kid and how the Cerullos couldn't afford shell- fish for the whole family. They used to let the kids play with the lobsters before the parents ate them. Then Eddie and Lois, with laughs galore, decide to hold their own lobster races before dinner. Monica Struggles with her Fear; She Finally Leans on Alan. ---------------------------------------------------------- At home in the Q mansion, there are tense times in Alan and Monica's bedroom. Alan tells Monica how much he resents Ned flying off "on business" and leaving them to deal with Katy-the-Bitch-Queen. Monica is unresponsive, lost in her own terrible thoughts. Alan gently asks what's wrong and she fluffs him off by say- ing she's had a bad day at GH. Very low key, Alan tries to humor her out of it but she leaps up out of bed and runs to the bathroom in tears. Finally...she tells Alan that there's a mass in her left breast. She says she vetoed the immediate lumpectomy and wanted a cell test instead. Then she gives him the really bad news: earlier that day she got news that the pathology report found malignant/active cancer cells. Baby Spencer Makes a Surprise Appearance! ------------------------------------------ Leaper gets Loopy to the waiting arms of Ancient Doc Hardy at GH's Emergency Room. Uh oh, Laura's having contractions and they're ordering a supply of blood. Steve tells Luke that the shock of the fall has detached part of the placenta, hence the extra blood. A nurse says that they'll have to do an emergency C-section immediately. Luke, who is near tears, demands to go with Laura to the operating room. He spends a few moments with Bobbie outside the delivery room; Bulwark's going to assist and says she's worried about the baby. Bobbie asks how Laura came to fall down the cellar steps; Luke tells her the story the thugs accosting Laura in the kitchen and warning her off the inciner- ator project. He says he'll deal with them when Laura and the baby are safe. They start the operation and Laura is upset about the baby, because it's still early in the pregnancy. Luke reassures her that it'll be okay. During the operation, Laura's blood pressure starts dropping and there are a couple of short moments, but Luke talks her back. Wow! They extract the baby (crying) and both Luke and Laura cry tears of joy. After the baby is taken away to be weighed, measured, etc. Laura (still on the table) announces that "there's something wrong here!" The doctors leap back to work on her; she has started to hemorrhage like Old Faithful! Elizabeth and Bradley Up in a Tree...B-O-I-N-K-I-N-G!! ------------------------------------------------------- Justus and Mary-May reminisce about Daddy Bradley. Another boring speech by MM about how saint-like Bradley was. Justus and MM talk about people who helped Bradley's campaign, called the Central Committee They mentioned Eugene (friend of Bradley's, campaign helper) and Elizabeth (smart, good negotiator, devoted to Bradley). Justus continued on about Elizabeth and wondered aloud why Elizabeth and MM aren't closer now, if Elizabeth played such an important part in Bradley's life in the past. He tells MM that he knows about the love affair between Elizabeth and his father. Justus asks MM if disclosure of the affair is why MM has been so reluctant to get involved in the murder investigation. She admits that's partially why she's foot-dragging. She said that a lot of people back then would have loved to embarrass Reverend Ward by exposing his affair. MM wants to know what Justus is going to do with the information about Eliz and Bradley. He says he's taking it to Sean Donely and she forbids it, saying it will stain Bradley's image. They argue and Justus says everyone makes mistakes; his dad was no different. Then he requests that MM tell him EVERYTHING about the past; she refuses. > end > end > end > send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov > end > end
