Organization: University of Illinois at Chicago, ADN Computer Center Date: Tue, 26 Jul 1994 12:43:56 CDT From:Newsgroups: rec.arts.tv.soaps Subject: GH: Update for Mon 07/25/94 By: kathy%gundog@lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) General Hospital Update for Monday, July 25 Wow! So much happened on Monday's GH that it was difficult to take it all in! Therefore, I'm going to use the John Andrews scene-by-scene style of reportage (we professionals call it "Johnny-style"). Here goes: Kevin's touching up That Ugly Painting. He frowns and shakes his head at the canvas. Just as he's reaching for the can of flat-black RustOleum, Miss Lucy wanders in. She's carrying swatches of fabric and her visit to Kevin is supposedly to help him redecorate. Lucy is horrified that he's changing someone else's artwork. Kevin confeses that he's the artist. They sit down and argue about the fabric sample; Kevin hates chintz, says it reminds him of his mother. Then the old animal magnetism kicks in. Kevin wants to talk about THE KISS and their mutual attraction. Lucy won't admit she's drawn to him and continues playing the "what attraction is that, Kevin?" game. Katy breezes into the sitting room/den/whatever of the Q mansion and attempts to shoot the breeze with Lila. Kate wonders what the hell is going on at the gatehouse (implication = "it's HER gatehouse and why wasn't she consulted before it was given away to the lower classes to be used as a recording studio, of all things"). Down at the gatehouse, Lois, Miguel and Brenda lounge around and listen to Miguel's latest track. Lois announces, to his shock and terror, that Miguel and his group have a gig that very night at the Outback! Then Brenda surprises Miguel with a nice silk shirt to wear for his performance. The gals egg Miguel on to try on the shirt. He obliges them by removing his shirt, finally, and Fabio-like, tosses his hair around before trying on the silk shirt. The gals are moosing around with the buttons and patting and touching Miguel's chest when Sonny walks in. He gets mildly turned on by watching the fillies and at the first opportunity tells Brenda that he wants to have sex NOW and why not use the empty recording studio? Back at the Q mansion, Katy tells Lila that she doesn't think Lois is so hot. Kate says Lois "looks so odd"...Lila replies that she thinks Lois is a lovely young woman. Then Lila really sticks it to Kate when she tells her that she shouldn't judge people by appearances, dear, because didn't Katherine join the Quartermaine clan as a common blackmailer? Kathryn reels from the verbal blow. She stumbles out, determined to check out the action at the gatehouse. Anything to get away from Lila! Jason pops into the gatehouse and tells Miguel that the Q's are behind the toxic waste incinerator. Lois is also horrified that the Evil Quartermaines would erect such a poisonous monster in Port Charles. Jason says he wants to help the opposition and asks Miguel, a resident of Charles Street, whom he should see. Miguel and Jason leave for May-Mae's house. Meanwhile, Sonny has pulled Brenda into the empty recording studio for a quick session of "hide Mr. Microphone". She's a bit reluctant to do it in so "public" a place, but he insists. They kiss slurpily and Sonny tells Brenda to strip. Back at the lighthouse, Kevin and Lucy spar verbally and Kevin heaps on the psycho-babble. Finally he makes a quick move and plants a kiss on her...it's long and passionate. Afterwards, Lucy agrees that there's a lot unsaid between them. At the Outback Club, Stone sneaks by to see Robin. They laugh about what a Neanderthal-jerk-asshole Unkie Mac is. On Charles Street, Jason meets with Miguel, Keesha, Justus and Mary-Mae. Jason admits he's a Quartermaine, but says he wants to help them oppose the toxic thingy. Justus voices that Jason might be a spy for the Q's and he's not to be trusted; Keesha is moritifed and apologizes for Justus' bad manners. Back at the gatehouse, Sonny and Brenda are down to skin inside the steamy studio while Lois does bookwork outside the door in the main room. She's busy daydreaming of her Eddie when Katy appears at the door on the pretext of want- ing to take her first look at a "real, live recording studio"...blech. Lois is nice to her and congratulates Kate on her recent wedding to the Quartermaine's "oldest grandson". Kathryn is cool and sneering toward Lois. Uh oh, Brenda hears Kate's voice [wow, great soundproofing in the studio, huh?] and literally throws Sonny off of her. She pulls on her clothes and bolts for the door to get rid of Kathryn before she and Lois realize they've married the same guy. While Brenda is dressing, Kate is telling Lois in no uncertain terms to stay away from her husband! A confused Lois starts to get angry at being ordered about and tells Kate that she's got no idea what the bitch is talking about; she's got her Eddie and she isn't interested in Kate's husband, Mr. What's His Name. Things start to heat up but Brenda bursts onto the scene and gives Lois some story about the soundboard being incorrect. Lois runs off to check it out. Brenda tells Kate to leave, then exits following Lois. Kathryn doesn't leave, however, and goes into her snoop-sister, picking up files and papers and reading them. Sonny catches her at it and she gives him her "I'm a Quartermaine and you're just a dirty peasant" sneer. She haughtily waits for him to back off. Sonny stares her down and starts to verbally ream her out. He says he knows exactly what she is: a "cheap broad" and a "phony". He tells her that people who have real power know how to use it. They don't have to flaunt it. Back at May-Mae's house, Justus has been told to shut the hell up. Jason says that since he's got the Q name, if he opposes the toxic gizmo then it could generate some media attention. Mary-Mae agrees. Jason also says he could help organize the students at PCU. Good idea. Jason and Miguel split. Keesha turns and snaps at Justus again, then she huffs off. Justus, confused and believing, himself to be the injured party, plaintively asks Mary-Mae if it bothers her that Keesha is infatuated with a rich white boy? [hey, if Justus thinks Jason is white, wait until he gets a load of Tom Hardy!] Mary-Mae frowns at Justus and tells him not to look for trouble. At the gatehouse, Sonny continues verbally assaulting Katy. He tells her that Kate shouldn't look down on other people. He says that all she did [to get to her now-exalted position] was "con some rich slob into giving you his family name!" He goes on to tell her she doesn't know the differece between money and power. She tries to leave, but he won't allow it until he's finished with her. "Power is quiet" he says, "when you have it there's no reason to announce it because people know it when they see it!" She finally scuttles back to the relative safety of the Q mansion. Robin and Stone are still outside the Outback, holding hands and kissing. Jason and Miguel breeze up and tell them about the anti toxic incinerator crusade. Robin wants to help; Stone leaves. At the lighthouse, Lucy says that before they go any farther she needs to know what Kevin's relationship with Felicia is. He bridles at this and says she's got no right to ask such a question. Lucy says her lips are sealed until she knows about Filly. Kevin tells her that Felicia was the only one who really accepted him when he came to Port Chuck; that everyone else saw Ryan when they looked at him. He assures Lucy that Filly is a friend now and nothing more. Lucy smiles hugely at this and they make a dinner date for that night. Kate storms back to the Q mansion, all righteous indignation. She complains to Lila about Sonny and says he treated her very rudely. Lila tells her to get used to it because Sonny is a partner in L&B Records and will be a permanent fixture, more or less, at the gatehouse. She suggests Kate avoid the gatehouse in the future if she doesn't want to be insulted. Realizing she has no power in this matter, Kathryn finally shuts her rubbery lips. Ned pops into the gatehouse later on and finds Brenda prone on the sofa and nursing a headache. She tells him about that day's near-catastrophe of Lois and Kate almost coming to loggerheads. Then she yells at him for being a lying, selfish pee-pee. Ned looks worried. End of show...I'm exhausted...Wow, got to say that Kevin was HOT HOT HOT on Monday. He's got a killer smile and looks very appealing in faded Levi's. Woof! > end > end > send comments, questions, and flames to kathy%gundog@lbl.gov > end > end
