Johnny leaves, disgusted with Lulu and with himself.

Johnny could not get away from Sonny's house fast enough. He hopped in his car and sped to the docks. He felt the need to be near the water, as if standing by it could cleanse the image of Lulu and Sonny from his mind. He stared out at the harbor, not knowing what to do.

Maybe his father was right. Women bring nothing with them but misery and betrayal. He had been so sure about Lulu. But he had seen the way she was kissing Sonny.

Johnny shook his head. His father was wrong. There was one woman who would always look out for him. He needed to talk to his sister Claudia.

With a sigh, Johnny turned to head back to his car. He was so preoccupied with his thoughts about Lulu that he was not watching where he was going. He was shocked back to reality as he collided with someone, knocking them both to the ground.
