Real-Life Status
Separate Lives: Bryton James (Devon, Y&R) filed for divorce from his wife, Jahaira. The pair married in March of this year and separated three months later in June. He cited irreconcilable differences. James was previously married to Ashley Leisinger and was also involved with former Y&R co-star Brytni Sarpy (ex-Elena).
In Memoriam
Heather Hill, a Y&R director for 15 years who won six Daytime Emmys from 13 nominations, passed away on October 10 at her home in Las Vegas at the age of 85. She began her career in soaps on Love of Life, where she was a production assistant. She was promoted to assistant director and later a director. Other soaps she directed at while in New York included Love Is A Many Splendored Things, As the World Turns and Search for Tomorrow. She moved to Los Angeles in 1985 and joined Y&R. She directed episodes of GH and Baywatch, which starred Y&R alum David Hasselhoff (ex-Snapper), who happened to be her neighbor. She was married to fellow Y&R director Randy Hill, and is also survived by her sons Tim and Chris.
