There were some good moments here and there, I enjoyed last week's episode the most of the season, but over all it's been a snoozer.
and what kind of soldiers don't disarm a hostage in the first instance?
That was stupid. It felt like sloppy writing.
so here are my burning questions:
- were there folks out there who did NOT think the Highlander in S1 was Jamie? I mean, who TF else could it have been?
I would be shocked if there were. That man was so obviously Jamie and the whole ghostly element of him disappearing when Frank turned to speak to him.
- why did we have to learn that Fanny could time-travel? did it bring ANYTHING to the rest of the story or the finale?
Counterpoint -- what was even the point of Fanny to start with? Retconning Faith's death and subsequent life was pointless to me. Introducing Franny added nothing. She just seem there to annoy me.
- why did we have to learn that Roger and Brianna's last kid wasn't a traveler? he was like the water, like Jamie? WHAT IS THE POINT?
I assume it was to establish that Roger/Brianna/kids would never return to the future, even if Jamie or Claire did die. But also, what was the point? Seems very limiting to the story. Leave open the idea that their future could go in countless directions.
- why did we have to see Claire bring that baby back to life, but we didn't see her do it with Jamie?
I think she ultimately did? They both opened their eyes and gasped at the end. Honestly, I would have liked an ending where her magic brought him back and also gave him her ability to travel. Just introduce the possibility that Jamie might visit the future with her someday.
- what the hell is this online chatter about a time loop? like Claire, Jamie and everyone around them are stuck in a time loop because ghost-Jamie made more forget-me-nots bloom at the stone?
That doesn't even make sense. Time loops require more than that. 😂
