TJ's, and while it's certainly less expensive than many other grocery chains offering mostly healthy alternative (helllllooo, Whole Foods, aka "Whole Paycheck"!), it's more expensive than Aldi's, certain offerings at Walmart and my beloved Southside Discount Grocery Store (a "salvage" grocery store where the selection varies and you have to be diligent in checking expiration dates but prices are waaay low).

They might respond well to persistence (you really really want to work there) and/or you might just hit a time when a few people leave (and you’re in the right place at the right time). You definitely have the personality and temperament to fit into TJs culture and you’d make more money and have benefits. I can picture you being relatively happy working there.

We have three TJ's in the area but one is further away than I'm willing to drive for a job (almost an hour). When I applied, it wasn't for a specific store; it was an online application for TJ's in general. Probably wouldn't hurt to apply again or ask directly at the store closest to me.

I’m thankful that I’m not job hunting but it sounds like today you can’t apply and wait for them to call you. You have to be aggressive and proactive and relentless. That combined with your sunny, friendly, sweet personality is a winning combination.

And there's part of the problem. I don't have an "aggressive, proactive OR relentless" bone in my body <g>. The job market right now is...interesting. There's plenty of places hiring but for me, they'd all be a move in the wrong direction (less hours, lower salary, further away, etc.).

I’m sorry if I’m being too pushy. I don’t want to see you stuck in a place that you’re unhappy in. You’ve stocked up on new clothes. Now switch to discounts on good food!

No worries--it's sweet of you to offer suggestions!
