Both plays I saw were so good. Dog Day Afternoon was Thursday evening and Jon Bernthal was great as Sonny, the role Al Pacino played in the movie. Those were some big shoes to fill and JB did it. On Saturday evening I saw a great production of Death of a Salesman. As expected, Laurie Metcalf and Nathan Lane were both terrific. LM was particularly mesmerizing. Christopher Abbott played the Loman’s son Biff and he was awesome. I had seen him in a few roles before but DOAS made me a new CA fan. By coincidence, both plays were set in Brooklyn.

I love theatre but I can only afford to go to so much theatre now so I’m happy that I picked two good plays, one a new play and one a revival. I think both will get some Tony nominations. The Tonys are on June 7 (the day before my birthday). Pink is hosting the Tonys this year. Pink as host was a surprise to some.

Next up for me is a 3-hour Off-Broadway play by Wallace Shawn called What We Did Before Our Moth Days in two weeks. 🎭
