and i never seem to learn my lesson.

First was the Skechers Shape up (aka 'moon shoes') and i wore them enthusiastically for weeks! I started a new walking routine at lunch, these sneakers were supposed to make my muscles engage more and make my 1 mile walk equivalent to TWO.

all they did was give me plantar fasciitis and thew my back out so badly it took almost 6 weeks to get better.

so I switched over to Vionic shoes exclusively for years.

this past summer I again wanted to start on a walking campaign for health and everyone was recommending the Skechers slip in walking shoes. I tried them on, and they seemed to fit great! I walked 5 times a week for 13 weeks and my foot started feeling sore, then ridiculously painful.

I ended up going to a podiatrist and while the issue isn't necessarily the shoe specifically, with my foot issues, they are the worst shoe for ME to wear. the arch isn't high enough, the toe bed not wide enough and with any kind of stretchy laces, one can't tighten the shoe as much as i need.

the real bummer about all this is every time i have a flare up my right freaking foot increases in size by a half. i used to have a wide 8, now i'm a triple wide 9.5.

and the other foot is still a wide 8.
