my favorite co-worker, "H", is quitting. Yesterday was supposedly her last day. She has nothing against the job; her husband is an only child and his mom is 91 now and starting to deteriorate physically and mentally, and H wants to be able to help her out as much as possible. Which is a very H-like thing to want. I told H on Saturday night, as we finished what might be our last shift together, that there are co-workers you like and co-workers you can count on because they really know the job and are good at it, but it's a real blessing when a co-worker turns out to be both. H was *literally* the only co-worker I have (out of an admittedly small group) that I both really liked and really enjoyed working with. There are two that I'd gladly get a cup of coffee with but can get frustrated with their work ability or habits. There's another that I mostly like (though she can definitely get on my nerves) but don't enjoy working with because of what she can and cannot do. There's one that's good at the job but isn't exactly the warm, fuzzy type. There's one that's good at the job but kind of annoying personally. And then there's one that's amazing at the job but I'd cross the street if I saw her rather than have a cup of coffee with her outside of work (hello, store manager!).

And then one warm day, I went to put my hair in a high ponytail and discovered that while my hair has (re)grown long enough to do so, I now have a patch that's roughly a circle, and roughly an inch in diameter, where very little hair grows. It's normally somewhat hidden under my side bangs but when I put my hair up, it's glaringly obvious and leaves a big gap in my hairline. My hair has been thinning for a while but most of it is towards the back where I cannot see.

And now tonight we're having some pretty serious winds and thunderstorms, which means the yard will be a mess tomorrow. It was 74° when I left for work this afternoon, 59° when I came home, and it's supposed to top out at 48° or so tomorrow. And then back to the mid-70s on Thursday, when I have to work all day.
