You would think that would be easy, as I work in a women's clothing store that sells a wide variety of jeans. BUT...a) both my store manager and I have noticed the length of the latest "full length" jeans is juuuuust a bit shorter than it used to be, and they're now juuuuust a bit shorter than I'd want them to be (and the "tall" full length jeans are juuuuust a bit longer than I want them to be...and I don't hem. Or sew, unless it's to put a button on, and even that annoys me <g>) and b) even with my employee discount, the jeans I like would be close to $50, which is juuuuust a bit more...OK, a LOT more...than I want to spend on jeans.

I went to Old Navy today because I'd gotten an email about certain style jeans being on sale for $16. Old Navy jeans usually fit me reasonably well but I've dropped some weight (35 lbs. since beginning my "new" job in July 2024) and I wasn't sure what size I needed. I got to ON and discovered that yay, I can fit into a size 10! The 10s are juuuuust a bit tight on me at the waist (darn gut) but of course jeans tend to stretch some over time (weirdly, my store's equivalent of a 10--a 1.5 <we do vanity sizing>--fit perfectly). I wound up going home without jeans though because a) I wanted a mid-rise straight leg and they only had high-rise straight leg and b) the mid-rise boot cut, which was acceptable, had a weirdly "flat" light blue wash. They had a half dozen pairs of the mid-rise boot cut in size 10 and there were several pairs where the lighter wash looked less flat and more visually interesting...and of course all those pairs were 10 short instead of 10 regular. But in the end it didn't matter...the $16 was only if you ordered online, and I didn't want to do that, even though I know I could've asked to pick them up in the store. I've never done that before and I wasn't sure if I could've gone to the counter and had the transaction processed as an online order or if it would've been a ridiculous process of ordering the jeans that were right there in front of me only to have to wait for the order to be "processed" and then return in a day or two to pick them up. Even if they had the right style and color, I didn't want to order on my phone and then hope I could pick them up right then and there.

Clothes shopping is hard...<g>.
