We wanted to wait to schedule our annual physicals because we didn't know exactly when we would be in PA (as opposed to FL). When we went to schedule them.......we were into the following year, so 2 years in between our ANNUAL physicals. Crazy. So now we schedule next year's visits as we are checking out of this year's visits.
That goes for regular physicals, gyno stuff and dermatologists. My local mammogram place can take you within the same week usually. Although my current situation is that Dec 2024 I had my annual mammo. At the end of it they said I needed to come back in 6 months to have my right breast scanned to check on........I can't remember but apparently I have "dense" breasts. Anyway, I got a script and went back in June 2025 for the right breast(only). Everything was fine and they told me that of course I still had to come back in December for my actual ANNUAL mammo. I tried to schedule it in December 2025, first online....but the first appointment available was like in June 2026. So I called and spoke to a scheduler. After many attempts she also said that because my last Mammo was in June 2025 that insurance would not allow me to schedule another one before June 2026. I repeatedly tried explaining that only my RIGHT breast had been screened in June 2025 as a follow up to my ANNUAL IN DEC 2024....to no avail. I finally gave up. Breast cancer (any cancer) does not run in my family on either side, so I am not that concerned. But it's GD infuriating! Obviously someone coded my June follow-up screening for my RIGHT ONLY breast as a regular mammo. So I guess that my new annual mammo will be in June. And if there are any follow-up screenings, you better believe that I will be double checking that they check me in/code it properly.
