has been attending college in NJ since 2023. While training for the Olympics, she still completed 5 classes a semester. So she’s another young skater who apparently values some balance in her life. She trains enough to be good enough for the Olympics but still manages a full-time college schedule. Getting to the level required for the Olympics, no doubt, requires a lot of training and practice. But maybe this younger generation is resisting the idea that to be that good, training has to be their whole life.
I was very happy for Alysa Liu too. She is a joy to watch both on and off the ice. Hopefully she does help spark this trend. I also totally expect that Alysa will spark a hairstyle trend as sure as Dorothy Hamill did.
