we did get out of JFK on Sunday morning with only an hour delay, thanks to the big offshore storm. They had to redirect our flight along the coast, instead of straight across the Atlantic to avoid the storm and it added about 45 minutes onto the flight.

when you land in St. lucia you have to walk off the plane down some stairs out onto the runway, and the warmth hits you right away. it felt SO GOOD to have warm air on my skin.

resort had done some renovations since our last visit, and made various other upgrades that made the stay even better than anticipated. There are a lot of areas in the Caribbean that are dealing with Sargassum/seaweed issues, but NOT last week! the water was so warm and the clearest it's been since our first visit in 2017.

we swam in the ocean, we swam in the pools; we walked on the beach every day, did multiple rounds in the lazy river every day and too many runs down the waterslides to count. food was delicious, drinks were fabulous and we were very sad to leave. particularly because it was -14 degrees when we landed at JFK. boooooooo

but i still have a tan somewhere under all these layers of clothes and i feel very refreshed.

i love the snow, but this unrelenting cold is getting old.
