She sent a text yesterday asking if our offer was still on the table. I guess just "living in a room" appeals to her more than paying an exorbitant amount at the independent living place she chose. I...am unsure what I think. There would have to be some renovating that she would have to pay for (the bathroom mainly, and I think there's a way to block off the basement bedroom and make it more secluded, plus chair lifts on the steps and probably a ramp outside). I don't know what to think honestly. I know she hates where she lives and really hates how it's gone up almost $1k a month in the three years she's lived there. It's a lot to think about.
The party went pretty well except people did not eat NEARLY as much as I thought they would. I made NINE different types of cookies plus a cake, and I only opened four of the six kinds of appetizers I bought and only cooked half of them! I made these chicken puffs that are usually really good and I have so many puffs left over. I told Mr. Kris we're eating appetizers for the rest of the week!
I'm planning to bring some cookies to NC and both Jack and Mr. Kris have cookie swaps this week but even with that there are so many left. Unfortunately I don't think they'll freeze for a whole year for next year's party, LOL. I also got super ambitious and decorated the roll out cookies with royal icing and all - I took a class last week with my co-worker on cookie decorating and thought I could make them. They turned out ok but I was up until 1am making them and I think about 5 were eaten. *sigh*
