We were talking and drinking and it was decorated and then we saw it start to fall and had to dive for it to try and keep it upright. Lost my GWU alumni ornament and the ears popped off one of my Mickey Mouse ornament balls that I was able to glue back on, lol.

Some of the ornaments on our tree are...a bit shabby. In the 70s, Sis brought back an ornament from a trip to Mexico; it's a paper mache burro on a sled. Somewhere along the years, the burro lost an eye...and his other eye somehow migrated to the middle of his face. So essentially he's a Cyclops burro. There's a cheap, store bought clay snowman that has stick arms...or at least he USED to have stick arms. Now he only has "arm". I was going to toss him but Mom fought for his right to stay on the tree, saying I could put it on the side furthest from the front door and at an angle from the front view of the tree, in a spot where she could see him. Then in 1993, on my one and only trip to Disney World, I bought Mom an ornament that's a homey scene of Mickey sitting in front of a fireplace, Pluto at his feet, and a cute little kitty cat sitting on the other side of the fire. I didn't pack the ornament carefully enough, or perhaps the baggage handler was particularly rough that day, but somehow the poor little kitty lost his ceramic head. Yep, still went on the tree. We have a teddy bear that lost an ear once but I managed to glue it back on and paint around it so you can barely tell which ear came off.
