a few minutes after it began. I saw that there were eight tables laid out in the big conference room but the only completed crafts there were some painted canvases, some snowmen ornaments made from clothespins and some snowmen made out of...I couldn't even tell you. All of the crafts looked like they'd been made by kids, probably at a free craft event at the library. Filling in the rest of the tables were craft supplies, possibly from the back room stash at the library (they do a LOT of craft events, plus when they do the free craft supply swap, they keep the leftovers). I'd brought all my handmade bracelets plus some earrings and beaded rings (I left the pour paintings at home) and when I saw what the event really was, I left four Christmas-themed bracelets that I wasn't terribly happy with and didn't bother unpacking anything else. I was gratified to see the only other non-staff person in the room immediately snatch up one of the bracelets. I wasn't going to take anything, I swear...but I came home with a couple blank canvases, some yarn and fabric squares (the former for my good church friend, the latter because they were really cool embellished denim and I immediately envisioned making some cool wristlets with them...and then made a mental note to learn how to make cool denim wristlets), a funky postcard that might look cute framed, a pre-printed canvas that I thought gcf might like to paint or color and a book on origami jewelry. I have no shame...<g>
And there was no cider or cookies *sigh*.
