since even Carrie. As I'm re-reading them, there are comments about whoever is the President when it was written by both supporters and non supporters of whoever alike...The Dead Zone, written in the 1970s, is one of his most political books (and eeriely similar to what's going on now)...

I get not wanting to read anything overtly political right now, but King has always been political. Even at the heart of The Stand is a political and religious battle, the battle between good and evil, although more metaphorical...and reads very different in 2025 than in 2012 when I first read it.

Holly and Never Flinch are his most political books ever and I definitely understand not wanting to read those two for those reasons.
