It's a start to me maybe breaking my severe reading drought.
I read Stephen Graham Jones' "The Buffalo Hunter Hunter".
Spoilers for it -- in the present day a woman finds a journal kept by her ancestor, a clergy man in the early 1900s who writes about visits from a Native American man claiming to be a vampire and wanting to confess his sins.
Graham is an incredible writer and the story is excellent. It left me with so many conflicted feelings tho. I really wasn't sure how to feel by the end. Who could blame an immortal Native American for wanting revenge for what is being done to his people but then at what point does the revenge seeker become the monster? It's a lot to unpack.
