Lem was my absolute favorite of that show. I adored him and he really was the best person among them (with the exception of Claudette). And Lem was the most innocent of that bunch so, naturally, he paid the ultimate price in a world like that. I was devastated for him and was crying for him when then somewhere in the scene I realized I was crying for Shane, too.

Same here. But every time I fall in love with a KJ character, they kill him off! 😭 SOA did it too with Herman. As did a more current show I’m watching that I won’t spoil. I wasn’t in love with that character, who arguably deserved death, but he was taken out by a dirty cop so I was still mad.

I remember Kenny Johnson said, in between takes, he was really laying it on thick to Walton being like "I'm going to miss this so much. I loved working with you. I'm gonna miss you" so when they started filming, all of Goggins' emotions and tears were real. And they are good friends in real life, too.

That’s funny. It worked very well!

Oh, I totally agree on Kurt Sutter being clueless on how to write women. He nails male characters but his female ones SUCK.

Also, Shawn Ryan wrote a better ending for Vic in "The Shield" than Sutter did for Gemma in "Sons" because Ryan understood that death is not the ultimate punishment. Death would've been letting Vic off too easy. No, he now has to live with everything he did, live with knowing he's lost his kids forever, live with all the blood on his hands, knowing that everyone knows what a POS he is and that everyone who once respected him now knows what he did and hates his guts.

Yes, Sutter was on that team but he clearly did not write that ending.

Gemma should've gotten the same ending, IMO, only she should have went to prison. That would've been the worst thing for her -- knowing her son died hating her, that she will never see her grandkids again and that they also know she killed their mom, that the club has turned on her forever and she has to survive in prison on her own. That should've been her ending, IMO. Death was too kind for her.

I hear you, but I wanted Jax to kill Gemma SO BAD at that point that it worked for me. Maybe she got off too easy, but I found her death extreeeeemely gratifying.
