hurricane okay and I can’t imagine it. I’m thinking about riding on horseback through a village in the hills above Ocho Rios and all I can think of is major mudslides and that village gone into the ocean. Dunn’s Falls is nearby and the combo of the raging ocean surge and those falls plus the heavy rainfall is a lot of moving water.
Brooklyn and Toronto both have big Jamaican communities so, of course, we’re thinking of the people we actually know first. But yeah, on a humanitarian level, this is catastrophic. Melissa is stronger than Katrina was in New Orleans (not that comparative pain is at all productive). I just pray that Melissa is not quite as bad as it seems right now.
