see logic and give up his car keys, and he says he'll be cool with it...but just a few weeks ago, Dad's car was in the shop for two days and it made him so antsy to be "stuck" at home (even though I told him if he didn't mind driving me to and from work, I'd be happy to let him have my car for those two days). I'm pretty positive he'll miss driving more than he's admitting to. Fortunately, he's still an excellent driver.
Mom OTOH...she was never that great of a driver. She wasn't a bad driver but she had her share of fender benders. When her vision got too bad for her to drive, she was THRILLED to hand over the keys and tickled to be driven everywhere like some rich old lady (though she sat in the front and not the back <g>).
