Within a few blocks, there are lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, drug stores, a bagel shop, a UPS Store (better than a post office), banks, a liquor store, gift shops, bakeries, medical offices, buses, a subway entrance, etc. Even my primary care doc is only 10 short blocks away. We have a diner two blocks away that will deliver food 24/7. My apartment building is on a residential side street but my block is between two avenues that have a lot of businesses on them. When I visit family or friends in suburbia, we have to get in the car if we run out of milk. At home, milk is on the corner.
