I thought for sure my condo would be sitting on the market for ages - there were two other condos for sale in July, both pretty updated. One was listed at $229k and the other $240k. Both had been on the market over a month. One listing disappeared (it had been listed for sale or rent so I guess someone rented it) and the $229k one went pending right before mine went on the market, and it had been on the market 45 days.
I put mine on and got three offers in two days, and we close tomorrow $10k over asking. And mine needs new carpet and has the original dishwasher and stove (and this building was first occupied in 1987). I was absolutely shocked! And the $229 one closed a week or two ago at $231k. Another one in that same building went on the market for $225 (what mine is selling for) and went pending in two days. That one was also pretty updated, with new floors and whatnot.
I am VERY thankful that I won't have to pay two mortgages! Especially since we apparently need a new a/c unit in the new house. 😐 I'm about to make a post on that saga....
