Interesting that you think you SM might quit her job. What do you think her reasons for doing so are? Is something going on with your parent company that affects her? You probably know this but the private equity firm that owns Chico’s is in the process of buying Walgreens.
SM says she's tired of being "disrespected" by the regional manager and she "wants a better work/life balance". The funny thing is I feel she's wrong on the first count and lying to herself on the second count. Her idea of disrespect is not getting constant praise on every conference call and RM occasionally telling her an idea for the store that SM doesn't want to implement.
Regarding SM's work/life balance, it's true she has none but at the same time, it's her own doing. She makes the schedule and could schedule herself more time off but not only does she not do that, she won't even leave when she's scheduled to do so. She always finds something trivial that could absolutely wait until the next day to do.
ETA--I did not know that Knitwell was looking to buy Walgreens as well. SM thinks Knitwell has done some not so good things since taking over Chico's, and that may have something to do with her possibly quitting. One example: earlier this summer, Knitwell decided stores making less than $1 million could not have any full time employees other than the store manager. Our store does a LOT of sales considering our location, our size and the average amount of foot traffic each day but last year, we did "only" $700K (which was the most the store has ever done by a long shot) so B was demoted to part time. The only benefit she lost was PTO but...B doesn't "need" this job and now that she's not getting quite as many hours (and now that she's actually a grandma), she's planning on taking a lot of time off. So SM "loses" her most knowledgeable employee at times.
