You are absolutely right. TBH, we would end up using it, esp LW.

He could have friends over and entertain, and so could we. We could have some lovely gatherings back there once we fix it up a bit.

Also, there is a HUGE shed in the back too, so when I say this house has ROOM, I am not kidding.

Back to the pool: I could use it for laps, if my stupid knees aren't acting up.

So, we're not opposed to it, it's just not a must have.

There was a house we saw back in 2021 when we didn't end up buying that was about this size and had a pool, but it needed resurfacing. It was a another funky 1960s-70s style Greenhaven house. It was soo cool, so weird, very custom. I literally would have had my own suite of rooms for office work and exercise behind the kitchen. The yard was big, and I could've done my workouts there when it's not too cold or too hot.

I cannot remember now why we didn't put in an offer. I think we thought it would be too much work because lots of it was pretty dated. And the pool issue.

I am still so very disappointed we didn't get that house by the Canals :(. Turned out the buyers paid over asking and probably didn't have the inspection requirements we have because we have a VA loan.

If they want to pay $25K over asking and then have to pay $35,000 in repairs, OK. Have fun. Not sure if the buyers had any idea of how much siding work needed to be done, or that the HVAC and hot water heater would need imminent replacement. There was dry rot in them there outer walls..so much $$ to remove and install new siding.

But, Waaaah :(

But we will see!
