The Wayfair Chronicles. Or, why did I buy this from them again???

Ok, I'm going to preface this by saying this is a cut and paste over what I already posted on reddit. I am SO FRUSTRATED with Wayfair right now, all over this ^*#@&!*# kitchen pantry I ordered. So let's get to it:

I had only ordered from Wayfair once before this year, for a dresser for my son's nursery, and it was perfect. I went back to them to buy furniture for our new house. So far I have ordered the following:

Two tall kitchen pantry units with drawers and shelves

Two low kitchen cabinets that match the pantry

A sofa

A set of sheets

A pair of table lamps

The table lamps and sheets were perfect.

The sofa, I ordered dark grey, they delivered greenish grey (which I did not immediately notice). When I contacted them, the manufacturer said some bs about 'light making it look different' and offered a 20% refund. I took the refund since we were planning on painting the room a shade of green anyway and it otherwise is a decent sofa.

And then we come to the kitchen pantries. 😤

So three boxes come in two weeks ago. I open one, put the pantry together, everything is great except for the drawer slides for the two large bottom drawers. They do not work. The drawer gets jammed, I yanked it out (yes not the best thing to do), ball bearings are stripped. I order a set of new slides. They so far have sent me a new bag of hardware which did not include the slides.

I open the second box and put it together. One of the drawers is fine, the other the slide is just as bad as the first box. Still waiting on the replacements.

Go to put together the low cabinets, but oops! It's another tall cabinet. Contact them. They send a label, I slap it on there, it's picked up this past Thursday. Today they delivered the new order of the low cabinet, except hold up! IT'S ANOTHER TALL CABINET.

I'm currently on chat with them now trying to get it resolved because what the actual ****. Oh and the listing I had clicked on when I ordered the low cabinets now says "discontinued" but there are other manufacturers with the same item.

I am very confused on the chat, because at one point they said they sent this one as a full replacement for one of the first two and the slides are on the way, and that the low cabinets will be delivered on the 17th (too late for the party I'm having on the 16th, yay). But I don't know if that means I keep the box that was delivered today or what. I'm tempted to open it up and salvage the slides from that box.

So far they asked me what I wanted for a resolution and I told them I want them to deliver the low cabinets, assemble them, and put the new slides in the other cabinets since apparently I'm incapable of doing it right. I'll keep you updated on what they decide.

Update #1: These are the dumbest people I have ever dealt with.

Apparently the low cabinets I ordered, the listing was a picture of the low cabinets but the description was of the pantries. So that's why they twice have sent the pantries out and now they marked that listing as "discontinued" because they realized oops it's the wrong photo. (side note, **** Lark Manor)

So the low cabinets are available from another listing on the site. Can Wayfair just send me those, at the same price? No they cannot. I asked for a discount code or something since the other listing is $50 more than what I initially paid for. The person says I can give you a $59 refund. Great!

Only they mean no, we give you just that $59 refund and you keep the third pantry that we delivered to you today.

why the **** would I want that. WHY THE **** WOULD I WANT THAT.

And now they're just utterly confused that I want my money back for the low cabinet and for them to come get the damned thing they delivered.

I'm just giving up on getting a discount code, **** it. I just want them to come get the damned thing. I would absolutely just order it from Amazon but those ****ers charge $100 shipping for this item.

I honestly don't know if I'm going to order from them ever again after this. Holy crap this has been INCREDIBLY frustrating.

I also have no idea if I'll ever get the slides I need so the other pantry I've already put together might be ****ing useless. If they'd sell that to me *for* $59 instead of just wanting to refund $59 I might keep it to bastardize it for parts.

Update #2 - I waited for them to get a manager or call and instead they just ghosted me so now I'm starting over with the THIRD agent in the past two and a half hours.

update #3 - after three hours with chat, I finally got fed up and called because they could not figure out how to just give me my money back. The guy on the phone was great, (shoutout to Nicholas!) he understood the problem immediately, got the refund started, and sent me a mailing label for FedEx.

And then in the middle of the phone call water started pouring out of the a/c vent in the ceiling in my office, so it was probably a very entertaining call for him as I was running around trying to get a trash can under the water and figure out what to do. He even tried giving me suggestions on how to help, lol. I gave up on asking for a discount code, because I do have one from when I moved that hopefully will work. Now I just need to wait for them to pick up the item on Friday and get the other item ordered and delivered. And maybe a month after I ordered everything I'll actually have it together.

Still waiting on the new drawer slides and I think I'm just going to say f it and order them from Amazon.

Update #4: I'm on chat with them again because I got an email that they're going to send me replacement parts....a door and hardware. 😐
