little hard freezing cold pats that you couldn't spread for another hour if you tried.

I'm a butter in the fridge type of gal, but I feel like Europeans keep it out on the counter with no negative consequences. Honestly though, with my husband's health issues these days we hardly ever use butter, so it's a moo point.

Side note: visiting friends recently bought plant based "butter" to use while cooking at our house. They're not vegan or anything, but use it for other health reasons. They had made eggs, etc. for breakfast and left the stick of "butter" out on the counter for awhile before cleaning up after cooking, eating etc. When we went to pick it up....it was practically liquid! Lesson learned, keep it in the fridge.
