I have an iPhone 12. This is the longest I've ever gone without upgrading.

I feel very fortunate as I have never broken, or had a phone lost/stolen. Since my phone is working fine, there is no need for me to spend the $. If the phone/features are intriguing enough, that will sway me. We are a couple of months away from the iPhone 17. The rumor is it's going to be the thinnest one to date. That is a deterrent to me--because it likely means it will break easily.

The cool thing about a new phone coming out--just like with TVs it causes the older models to drop in price 😁
