week for no reason I could really ascertain. Plus I'll be working a ton of hours this week due to a key holder (B-Big Grandma Energy, now literally) going to spend a week with her very first grandbaby and another co-worker being off just because she doesn't want more than 10 hours a week and she wanted ALL of last week and this week off.
As for assertiveness training...not a bad idea <g>. I think Auntie felt secure in inviting herself along on this trip because back in 2021, I made her the same offer: ride with me to and from another city (that time, it was Columbus, in the fall, for yes, a HF concert) and stay overnight with me and I'll pay for it all. But back then, I was making more money and didn't mind treating Auntie...although I *did* mind it when the only room I could get at the hotel I wanted to stay in (cheap + walking distance to the venue) had only one regular bed plus a sofa bed and Auntie just...took the regular bed, reasoning she was older and needed it more. The sofa bed wasn't exactly uncomfortable but it certainly wasn't as comfy as the regular bed.
