It's also 18 years old, lol, so it has lived a good life.

However, there are several stains from kitty puke (she's really good at going under the table or somewhere else inaccessible/not easily seen and yakking), there were some pee stains in the office (now Jack's room) but it must have eventually faded, it was from my previous cat, she was a revenge pee-er, and we haven't smelled anything in years. Knock on wood.

There are various stains also from kid projects though the worst is the damage in front of my bedroom door. Previous kitty we always had the door open because the litter box was in there. After she passed, we got used to keeping the door closed. New kitty is NOT about that, she wants to be up our butts constantly and when we first got her and closed the door she'd scratch and scratch and scratch and now the carpet is torn up and completely ruined in that spot. It took a while for Mr. Kris to remember to just leave the door open.

I'm planning on doing a carpet allowance when we sell, because I don't want to spend the money to replace the carpet and then whoever buys it not want it. That's what happened to me, I would have VASTLY preferred putting laminate flooring in but it was brand new carpet so I didn't want to just rip it up. So 18 years of flooring I hate because it was too much of a pain in the butt to move everything out.

I had a contractor come out yesterday and they took measurements to give me a quote on replacing the carpet in the bedrooms with hardwood that matches the rest of the top floor, and to see about replacing the basement bedroom berber carpet with luxury vinyl plank. The basement is less time sensitive, we can deal with the carpet for a bit longer if need be, but I really want to get the hardwood done and am praying it won't be ridiculously expensive.
