World Series to the Atlanta Braves in '95, I was disappointed but knew deep down the Braves were simply the better team. I was proud of my guys just for making it to the WS. In '97, when we lost (in extra innings, in game 7) to the Florida Marlins, I was LIVID. Our then closer, Jose Mesa, had been near automatic all season...he chose the last game of the WS to tank? The last pitch even (we were literally one strike away from winning the dang thing)? And to a team that was dismantled at the end of the season because the owner didn't want to pay all those high salaries? Ouch. I'm still a little bitter about that one.
