solely because I've liked Scott Caan since his days on Hawaii 5-0 (and then later discovered some movies he was in before the show that I also liked, or at least liked him in). Honestly, it grated almost from the get go. There was just too much shoehorned into a single series so really none of the characters really got to shine. I started watching this season and found I just didn't care. When they killed off their lead in a shocking twist at the end of...I think it was the second episode?, I was just DONE. And I didn't even like the lead very much, either the character OR the actress. I watched two more episodes; the writers tried to pivot to a relatively procedural buddy cop show, but it wasn't working.
Interestingly, while I was watching for Scott Caan, a number of fans online were apparently watching DESPITE SC. I think he's a fairly versatile actor (although his character here occasionally reminded me some of Danno from H50) but apparently others don't?
