night (On Demand--the pilot aired days ago)...it didn't hold my interest at ALL. I loved the original Librarian movie, thought the next two (three?) movies weren't quite as fun and then fell HARD for the Librarians TV series, in part because of the actors (Christian Kane! Rebecca Romjin! John Larroquette as Jenkins! And I developed a wee crush on both John Harlan Kim and Lindy Booth). I thought the four Librarians in the original series had excellent chemistry, and the stories were just complex enough to make them interesting but not so complex that I had to think hard while watching. It was the perfect escapism show for me.
The reboot? Eh, not so much. I liked, but didn't love, the new Librarian out of time and the new Guardian. Conspiracy Guy and "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" Gal, not so much (plus both had some cringy acting moments...as did the new Guardian, TBH). The new villain is a little too muah-ha-ha OTT for me, and the beastie they fought was boring to the point I fell asleep. The only highlight for me was Christian Kane briefly reprising his role as Jacob Stone from the original show and giving shoutouts to Cassie (Booth) and Ezekiel (Kim). But the rest...well, I was so uninvested I didn't even bother to remember everyone's names...
I might give the second episode a shot at a later date and see if it's an improvement over the pilot. But I'm not in any rush to do so.
