Ok, so Jack started therapy a couple of years ago for his ADHD. He had a decent therapist who unfortunately decided to go to telehealth and then to leave the practice completely. He last saw Jack in January. Since then, we waited for him to give us a referral to someone else in his practice, and I also spoke with Jack's pediatrician about finding a new one.
Well, a place in Columbia was opening a new office near us, though not until this month. So I spoke with them and they set us up for a first appointment for the first week of May, and then every week at the same time. I had to call back because the first meeting was at 5pm and if I'm working evenings (3-11) it's not possible for Mr. Kris to get to Jack's school, pick him up, and get there by 5 (he works about 40 minutes away and gets off at 4:30). So they called back, found a different therapist, and we'd start Monday at 6pm. Even moved the appointment up a week, which was great. I think at this point I had spoken with them at least three times about changing doctors, appointment times, etc.
Fast forward to today, and they call back because that therapist is now no longer going to see children. We won't do telehealth again (it really wasn't working), so now they had to see if one particular therapist would stay later to see him. *insert frustrated steam-blowing emoji, I forgot how to do that again* They called back and left a message that the original original therapist moved another patient so we're back on with her, at 6pm, starting the first week of May. In the meantime I did call his old therapy office and am on a waiting list for them if this doesn't work out.
Oh and I realized *after* I hung up that I had to cancel the one on the 14th because that's the night of Jack's spring concert (he plays viola).
It shouldn't be this difficult to find a good therapist!
