I would have liked to have seen a few characters return this season, especially DJ, Geena (I think is her name?) and Mary...Nancy is always fun to see...
DJ's wife WAS Geena! I couldn't remember her name because it's been so long. I never did find out why DJ at least wasn't in the last season (too busy? Wasn't asked to be?) but it was jarring to not have him there to support Dan before, during and/or after the deposition.
I love Seth Green (even if I don't like Oz), but he wasn't really needed.

I did like John Goodman saying goodnight. With the "truck theme" Jackie should have gone back to truck driving instead of being a cop.
Yes! I could've totally believed Jackie going back to truck driving. Though not sure Neville would've been happy about that.
I blinked and missed Harris' boyfriend.
He (and I don't even remember his name) was introduced for a few minutes in the second to last episode. He was going to intern for Ben, needed a paying job, waited tables, badly, at The Lunchbox for two days, got fired and got with Harris.
Mark getting out of Landford fits for him, but it was sudden.
It absolutely fits. Mark was my favorite character through the reboot and I was rooting for him to get away, to live a better life. It was nice symmetry how Darlene ran away to Chicago with David but didn't want her adult son leaving her for NYC.
I think they wanted to show that the characters would keep on trucking, per all the episode names with "Truck" in them (and again why it'd be fitting for Jackie) and would be Conner okay.
