He gave Spencer and Alex an amazing love story and epic romance in season one. He then kept them apart until the last possible moment. Poor Alex was tortured this entire season: Robbed, beaten, sexually assaulted, stranded in the cold, crossed the entire country only to reunite with her husband for a few hours before succumbing to her injuries. I don’t even care about their Titanic-esque reunion in the afterlife! Don’t get me started on Whitfield and that chick’s sick sexual torture. It was so unnecessary and beyond gratuitous. It robbed us of advancement of other plots.
All he had to do was have Spencer and Alex make it back episode 6 or 7. She gives birth and they get some happiness as a family and then Alex suffers a complication or infection day or two later and passes away. This notion that frostbite ultimately took her life after all she overcame is utter BS. Season one gets A- and season two gets an F! I recommended the show to friends and family and feel the need to go back and apologize! 🤦🏾♂️
