(yes, I need to play with him more)
I would've thought Whimsy would've been happy to entertain him?
Sigh. So tired today.
Understandable!
He meows in my face at 5:40 AM, then starts purring, as he does when he thinks I'm getting up.
Awww...annoying but still sweet <g>
I locked them both out of the room instead LOL.
Did they scratch or meow at the door to be let in?
Like most other grumpy old men, Leo was an early riser. Before Leo came to be with us, Dad would sleep with his bedroom door open and I always kept mine closed. Our first night with Leo, he jumped up on Dad's bed twice in the middle of the night and he woke me up with some shockingly loud, and kind of pitiful, meows. Sometimes Leo would do this hilarious (to me, anyways) bit where he'd meow several times, with increased volume--meow, MEOW, MEOW!--then let out a meow that sounded like a question--meow?--and then end with a quiet, resigned meow. It sounded for all the world like a cat's version of someone entering a house when no one's home: "hello. HELLO. HELLO! Anyone home? OK, I guess not".
After night #1, Dad started sleeping with his door shut and I kept mine open in case Leo wanted to come sleep on the bed with me. When I was a teen, I'd sleep in on Saturdays (my only day to do so) and my cat, Peppermint, would let me sleep till around 9:00 AM or so, then she'd lay down at my (closed) door and kick it with her back feet until I or one of my parents let her in my room. Then she'd jump up on the bed, burrow under the covers and lay, little spoon style, against me (I'm a side sleeper) until I got up. Leo was always changing his nightly routine the first year or so; there was a stretch where he'd come in, jump on the bed and plop himself, purring onto my outstretched arm, but he rarely stayed long.
And then I started taking him outside and he enjoyed it so much, he wanted out every day. He would wake both Dad and me up every morning around 5:00 meowing to go outside. That's when Dad "fenced" off the front porch and I would get up and let King Leo outside where he was content to perch on the box that was formerly used to shelter Cheeky's food (Cheeky being the chipmunk Dad fed and all but tamed) and survey his kingdom.
