Reginald's grand plan. I'm not sure the writers even put that much thought into it. LOL! They just slapped some nonsense together.

It definitely felt that way. I now have way more respect for showrunners who have a 5+ year plan (such as Eric Kripke did when he was running Supernatural).

I felt so bad for the cast after watching the season because, looking back on their pre-season interviews, they knew it was trash but still had to promote it. You could see their excitement in previous seasons was not there for season 4. Before the season, I just assumed they were sad the show was over but after watching it, I realized their promos were more like hostage videos. 🤣

YES! Perfect analogy!

I must say tho that my favorite friendship to come out of the show was Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan because they're polar opposites but just totally adore each other. You'll have to look up their episode of Hot Ones together.

Oooo...I need to see that! Luther was always my least favorite member of the Umbrella Academy, though I didn't *dislike* him. I actually felt sorry for him when he was essentially reduced to comic relief* in the later seasons (though I did like him with Sloane and loved the last minute, end of the world wedding). I also was amused by his enthusiasm at getting the family back together at the start of season four and his attempts at stripping for a living**. And you're right; Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan are adorable together in interviews (though to be fair, so are Justin Min and David Castañeda, and Emmy Raver-Lampman and, well, everybody--she's an absolute ray of sunshine with the BEST laugh).

* one thing I always wondered: why did Sir Reginald make the two kids with the lamest superpowers--super strength and, uh, good aim?--the leader and 2IC of the group? Unless he went strictly by birth order which, since all were born on the same day, would come down to a matter of hours at best.

** another headscratcher: the only power Luther got from the marigold was super strength. His massive size came from the injection of Martian ape blood he received after being severely wounded in a battle. So why did drinking marigold in season four make him part ape again?

Soooo many questions. Even before I finished season four, I rewatched season one and am in the midst of rewatching season two. When I'm done with season two, I'll rewatch season three...might be a while before I rewatch season four, if I even bother.
