They give us so much and it's so hard to let them go when we have to.
We currently travel with our Mr. Gold (95 lb. Pitty/Cane Corso mix that we've had since he was an itty bitty 3 month old baby...now 10 years old) and our two almost 16 year old kitties, Shia and Frankie. We started bringing the kitties down with us to FL because they are getting old and need a lot more attention. And honestly they love the Florida life, lol. Especially living in a rancher instead of an old fashioned two story, plus basement house in PA. The girl Shia is arthritic and has problems with the stairs. And they both love lounging by the pool in the sun. I'll send you pics on Instagram!
But we are also at the point in our lives that as much as we love them.......when they're gone we are not getting any more pets. We're getting old and the end of a pet's life is a lot of work both physically and very much emotionally. I don't think I can go through it again.
We have retired college friends down here who volunteer at an animal shelter every week. I don't know how they do it.....I'd want to take them all home with me! I mean I'd love to get my love and cuddles out, but I know that if it came down to it, my husband and I would end up rescuing too many and end up right were we are now, lol.
