to my reading list. It sounds good. I’m not familiar with this writer at all.
I guess I’ve been in a reading slump (or maybe just busy) because the only book I finished is Normal People by Sally Rooney. I enjoyed it but it might not be everybody’s cup of tea. It’s a very character-driven coming-of-age novel with minimal plot. Because I knew about the TV miniseries based on it (but haven’t seen it), I couldn’t help imagining Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones as Connell and Marianne.
I thought I would read more on the beach in Mexico. But it turned out to be a trip of meeting lots of people and socializing. Between that and margaritas, I did more snoozing on the beach than reading.
