indies and foreign films. I’ve seen five of the ten Best Picture Oscar nominees so far and I have plans to see The Brutalist next week. I also watch plenty of serious TV shows. BUT, at the same time as loving Breaking Bad and The Wire, I also love Survivor and Schitt’s Creek (not to mention decades of watching GH on and off). Same for movies. I loved Nickel Boys and Conclave but I also love a good James Bond movie or something like Knives Out. So I don’t think I’m a movie and TV snob. Sometimes I just want a light popcorn movie to escape from our crazy serious world for a couple of hours. I do consider film an art though and am not much into most big formula Hollywood action or superhero movies and especially not the franchise sequels. I love going to a serious film that makes me think and then talking about it afterward over coffee, dinner or drinks with whoever I saw it with.
